Amazon's mobile shopping app is used by hundreds of millions of customers worldwide and are among the most downloaded applications on both the App Store and Google Play. Behind these apps is Mobile App Foundations, a team within Rendering Foundations that owns the platform infrastructure, release operations, and app-level capabilities that enable thousands of Amazon builders to ship features to customers through a single, shared mobile application. Releasing at this scale means coordinating thousands of builder teams shipping into a single application that serves customers across dozens of global marketplaces. Each app store submission must meet evolving platform, legal, and regulatory requirements, and the cost of getting it wrong is a blocked release that affects every team, and end users at every marketplace.

As a Principal Program Manager within Mobile App Foundations, you will own the end-to-end mobile app release program and serve as Amazon's primary operational interface on app store policy matters. You will build the frameworks, relationships, and processes that make Amazon's mobile shopping apps releasable at a scheduled cadence while ensuring every submission meets various internal and external requirements across all marketplaces we serve.

Key job responsibilities
You will own the mobile release program across iOS and Android, driving the operational cadence that enables thousands of Amazon teams to ship features to customers without release delays. You will serve as Amazon's point of contact for external partner relations on policy matters, building strategic relationships with platform counterparts. You will work directly with Amazon Legal, Business Development, and feature teams that build on Amazon Shopping app to interpret platform policy changes, assess risk, and make high-judgment calls. You will develop proactive policy monitoring frameworks that identify potential submission issues before they cause rejections with a systematic approach. When platform policy conflicts arise, you will frame the tradeoffs clearly for VP-level leadership, recommend a path forward, and drive resolution across organizational boundaries.

A successful candidate brings strong program management instincts, the ability to operate in ambiguous environments, and the judgment to make calls that balance customer experience and business impact. You will influence and align multiple stakeholders across organizational boundaries, represent complex problems simply to leadership, and drive clarity under time constraints where none exists.

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Program Management, Mobile App Release, Policy Compliance, Stakeholder Management, and Risk Assessment. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
