Overview

Be part of Mastercard's AI&DPE program, which serves as the core for multiple business solutions designed to combat fraud, validate cardholder identity, and facilitate AI-backed decision-making.

Our patented Java-based platform processes billions of transactions per month in tens of milliseconds, using a multi-tiered, message-oriented approach to deliver high performance and availability.

Role
Work closely with platform architects to help drive the technical vision and translate that vision into actionable direction for development teams.
Create solutions that can support different products while maintaining the overall health of the platform.
Work closely with technical leads on assigned projects to support design and implementation activities.
Plan, design, and develop technical solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements, in line with Mastercard standards, processes, and best practices.
Drive Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and support the department in selecting the right solutions for business and platform requirements.
Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions on new and emerging frameworks, methodologies, and technologies.
Define and evolve platform architecture, drive technical strategy, and ensure architectural consistency across products and engineering teams.

Experience in the design and development of complex, multi-tier, cloud-native architectures.
A quick learner with the ability to drive complex technical solutions.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with rules-based systems and web-based applications, with previous experience as an Architect or Tech Lead.
Strong understanding of key concepts, principles, and best practices for Java and cloud-based application development, including technologies such as PCF, Kubernetes, and AWS.
Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, along with familiarity with NoSQL databases.
Experience working with high-volume platforms.
Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture concepts, including high availability, scalability, resilience, performance, and security requirements.
Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, MQ, and modern streaming platforms.
Experience with distributed systems, microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and cloud-native platforms such as Kubernetes and AWS.
Strong understanding of observability, resiliency, operational excellence, and security-by-design principles for mission-critical platforms.

Desirable Skills

The following would be advantageous:

Experience with rules-based applications, such as IBM ODM.
Ability to performance-tune high-volume SQL.
Knowledge of networking concepts, including F5, DNS, and related technologies.
