About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Quantitative Analytics Specialist. This role is responsible for ongoing development of models used for estimation of counterparty risk for reporting in the U.S. Federal Reserve Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review and for BAU risk management.
Model developer responsibilities include ongoing development of model methodology, completion of model lifecycle events such as periodic revalidations, model performance monitoring and associated model improvements, working with model owners and other business partners to ensure the models continue to be fit for purpose in light of changing financial markets and regulations, liaising with onshore partners, and working in collaboration and strong partnership with stakeholders.
This position joins a high functioning, high profile team and requires strong modeling, programming, analytic, organizational and prioritization skills coupled with strong attention to detail. This role is highly dynamic and will require critical thinking and a tactical approach to problem solving.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, implement, and calibrate various analytical models
- Perform highly complex activities related to financial products, business analysis and modeling
- Perform basic statistical and mathematical models using Python, R, SAS, C++ and SQL
- Perform analytical support and provide insights regarding a wide array of business initiatives
- Provide solutions to business needs and analyze workflow processes to make recommendations for process improvement in risk management
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, managers, and regulators to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Quantitative Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, economics, or quantitative discipline
- Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics or computer science
- Strong analytical/quantitative problem-solving skills
- C++, Python programming and database experience (mandatory)
- Knowledge and understanding of financial products and financial modeling.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to deliver results with speed and agility.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
Desired Qualification
- Ph.D. in a quantitative field or additional experience in quantitative areas
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge in financial products and market and/or counterparty ris
