Key responsibilities

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Perform the electrical and electromechanical development of systems for low-voltage electrical power distribution applications.
• Translate product specifications, applicable standards, state of the art, utility requirements, and customer needs into robust product designs, with a strong focus on new product development and technical ownership.
• Support the development of innovative solutions for electrical power distribution systems, metering cabinets, and sub-distribution enclosures in compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
• Create, maintain, and manage technical documentation, drawings, and 3D design data using modern engineering tools (e.g., EPLAN).
• Perform technical analyses, simulations, testing, and validation activities to ensure products meet performance, reliability, safety, environmental, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, and cost competitiveness.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing, to ensure successful product development and market introduction.
• Identifying new concepts, evaluating emerging technologies, and sharing technical expertise through team discussions, reviews, and technical reports.
• Establish and maintain connections with relevant industry groups, standards organizations, and professional networks to expand knowledge, monitor market and technology trends, and strengthen technical expertise.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering.
• Highly skilled in / 5+ years of experience with the following:
  • Experience in the design and development of low-voltage electrical power distribution systems, metering cabinets, and electromechanical products.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution layouts, circuit diagrams, installation concepts, and electrical circuit design.
  • Experience in creating detailed electrical schematics, cable routing drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation for electrical equipment.
  • Good knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, particularly IEC 61439, DIN VDE 0603 and VDE AR-N 4100.
  • Experience with product testing, validation, and type testing, including collaboration with certification bodies (e.g., VDE) and accredited laboratories.
  • Proficiency in Bill of Materials (BOM) management and PLM systems, preferably PTC Windchill.
  • Proven experience managing projects or work packages, with responsibility for technical deliverables, schedules, and cross-functional coordination.
• Ability and desire to grow into a role with increasing responsibility.
• Legally authorized to work in the European Union on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
• Communicating at ease in English/German.
