Security & ERP Lead

Job Purpose

Acts as a point of contact for general security issues, inquiries, systems, and investigations; ensures that the security performance standards adopted and practiced by Air Arabia employees, Contractors, Vendors, and Customer Airlines meet the specifications stipulated in the “Security Manual” and are as per DAC/CAA, IOSA and other related regulatory bodies’ regulations and standards.

Key Result Responsibilities

• Facilitates the daily activities of the department; prepares, disseminates and maintains all in and outgoing correspondence including letters, memos, presentations, and function related documents, etc. using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and PowerPoint and/or presentation software.
•  Assists in arranging and conducting security related internal and external audits and inspections across the network; identifies irregularities and follows up on issues/cases to ensure corrective measures are applied and concluded.
• Conducts regular security tests on board aircraft.
•  Conducts regular reviews (as needed) to monitor and assess the security performance within the Company; provides recommendations for improvement and enhancements on the current procedures and assists in implementing them along with the corresponding administering systems.
• Conduct regular risk assessments for all destinations operated by Air Arabia.
• Follow up on all security findings raised during internal audits, CAAs audits and third authorities inspections / audits.
• Keeps up with all national and international Aviation Security legislations and their amendments/enhancements/changes that may affect operations within and outside Morocco.
• Supports in establishing, updating and publishing security policies and corresponding working procedures to counter the threats and risks in accordance with International Government requirements.
• Reviews and assists the in updating the “Air Operator Security Program” to include any new security regulations, standards, directives and Bulletins, arrange for its approval by relevant authorities and disseminates the same as appropriate.
• Arranges, records, and distributes function related minutes of meetings; maintains schedules and calendars on regular basis.
• Generates necessary reports on regular basis and provides management with highlights on results and findings to be utilized in optimizing workflow procedures in the office.
• Monitors “Aircraft Operator Security Program” for Air Arabia ensuring its compliance with the “National Aviation Security Program – Annex 17” and the other aviation authorities (CAA) in the respective areas of operation.
• Provides administrative support and partners with Airport authority to arrange Airport passes for staff as directed.
•  Organize training and awareness program for employees on the security measures and adopted security practices.
• Performs as a Go team member during times of increased risk and/or for specific flights and routes as needed whilst maintaining familiarity with applicable aviation security-related legislations and regulations in all the geographic areas operated by Air Arabia.
• Handles routine inquiries on security matters with professionalism to provide adequate responses.
• Authorizes in the name of the QSS the carriage of weapons and ammunitions in line with applicable procedures and regulations.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

• Bachelor degree in Management/Aviation from or equivalent from a recognized university, diploma or certificate in the related field combined with needed experience and exposure is acceptable.
• IATA/Aviation security training from accredited institution or organization is an advantage.
• Investigations/Interview techniques courses including techniques in detection of forged travel documents and passengers profiling is an advantage for this role.
• Compliance, Audit and Quality Assurance certificates and trainings are an added value for this role
• Skilled report writing is required to ensure that complex reports are properly and clearly described.

• Up to date with current Security Technology, proficient in Microsoft Office: Advanced Excel & Power Point.
• Very good in English & Arabic Languages (Non-Arabic speakers accepted based on Line Manager’s approval).
• Has reasonable knowledge and exposure to the Civil Aviation Authorities, particularly DAC; familiar with regulations of DAC pertaining to the Aviation Security , policies, procedures, manuals, etc.
• Capable of implementing and carrying out investigation procedures and inspections / audits when required.
• Composed personality, capable of dealing with threats and emergency cases with focus and efficiency.
• Relative exposure to Quality Assurance /Safety/External Audit practices affecting security.
• Capable of monitoring performance against security policies, procedures and operating manuals in line with adopted regulations and approved standards.
• Demonstrates exceptional work habits; high accuracy and attention to details.
• Capable for analyzing data, identifying irregularities and recommending corrective measures

Work Experience

• 3+ years’ of experience in the Aviation/Airlines industry, a minimum of 1 year of which at least in a similar capacity in the Aviation Security department is required for this role.
• Knowledge in Government Immigration Acts, Police & Criminal Evidence (Aviation authorities) Acts is an advantage.
• Experienced in implementation and maintenance of aviation related documentation.
