Senior Product Manager - Argos Content Experiences

In a nutshell

At Sainsbury's Tech, we power the UK's leading multi-channel, multi-brand retailer. This role owns the strategy, roadmap and delivery of the tools, platforms and experiences that enable content creation, management and delivery across Argos digital and in-store channels.

The Senior Product Manager for Content Experiences will lead a broad ecosystem spanning content management, design systems, design tooling, colleague experiences and emerging AI-enabled capabilities. Their goal is to create high-quality, consistent and engaging content experiences for customers, while making it easier and more efficient for colleagues and partners to create and manage content.

Working across Product, Engineering, Design, Commercial and Operations teams, the role holder will define a joined-up content strategy, prioritise investment and drive measurable customer, colleague and business outcomes.

The successful candidate will combine strong product leadership, commercial awareness and technical curiosity, with experience applying data, insight and emerging technologies, including AI, to solve meaningful customer and colleague problems.

What I need to do

  • Define and deliver the vision, strategy and roadmap for Argos Content Experiences.
  • Own the end-to-end content ecosystem, connecting colleague tools with customer-facing experiences across web, app and stores.
  • Lead product investment, prioritisation and delivery across CMS, design systems, content tooling and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Improve content quality, consistency, speed to market and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to use AI and automation responsibly across content creation, enrichment, publishing and governance.
  • Use customer insight, colleague feedback, analytics and experimentation to drive product decisions and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Commercial, Data and Architecture teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Manage dependencies, risks and priorities while ensuring delivery remains aligned to customer and business value.
  • Support incident management and continuous improvement activities.
  • Contribute to the wider Product Community of Practice.

How I will succeed

  • Deliver a clear and compelling Content Experiences strategy aligned to Argos and Technology priorities.
  • Improve the quality, consistency, accessibility and effectiveness of customer content across channels.
  • Make it easier and faster for colleagues to create, manage and govern content.
  • Create a joined-up product direction across CMS, design systems and content tooling.
  • Use data and experimentation to improve customer engagement, discovery, confidence and conversion.
  • Introduce AI-enabled capabilities that deliver measurable value while maintaining appropriate governance and oversight.
  • Build strong partnerships across Product, Design, Engineering and Architecture.
  • Make effective prioritisation decisions that balance customer outcomes, colleague efficiency, commercial value and technical sustainability.
  • Communicate vision, progress and value clearly to stakeholders at all levels.

What I need to know

  • Strong product management experience across strategy, discovery, prioritisation and outcome-led delivery.
  • Experience with content management platforms, digital experiences or ecommerce products.
  • Understanding of design systems, content operations and colleague-facing tooling.
  • Knowledge of AI and automation opportunities within content creation and management.
  • Strong appreciation of customer experience, accessibility and digital design principles.
  • Technical literacy across platforms, APIs, integrations and modern engineering practices.
  • Experience using research, analytics and performance data to inform decision-making.
  • Understanding of retail and ecommerce environments is desirable.

What I need to show

  • Customer and colleague obsession.
  • Strong product leadership and strategic thinking.
  • Commercial focus and outcome orientation.
  • Technical curiosity and innovation mindset.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Collaborative leadership across complex organisations.
  • Confidence operating in ambiguity and making prioritisation decisions.
  • Pragmatism, resilience and continuous learning.
  • A responsible approach to AI, quality, governance and customer trust.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Product Management, Content Management, AI Integration, Roadmap Strategy, and Stakeholder Management. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project. This role expects it to be a running habit.
