Job Description:

Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Developer/Tester) – Data Security, Assistant Vice President

Location: Pune, India

Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President

Role Description

  • As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – Data Security (Assistant Vice President), you will own end-to-end test assurance for enterprise Data Security automation, workflows, integrations, and reporting solutions. You will establish a risk-based testing approach and independently verify that solutions across HR systems, Active Directory, LDAP, SQL Server, Web Services, and Symantec DLP meet functional, control, data-quality, security, performance, resilience, and operational requirements.
  • You will define test strategies, estimation, coverage, entry and exit criteria, test environments, test data, traceability, and evidence. You will lead functional, integration, system, regression, negative, access-control, data-reconciliation, performance, failover, and operational-readiness testing; promote repeatable test automation; govern the defect lifecycle; and provide objective quality and release-readiness reporting.
  • Critical requirement: Demonstrable hands-on experience testing Symantec DLP Workflow Designer and Process Manager solutions—including business and MI reports, operational dashboards, approval workflows, notifications, role-based access, exception paths, and failure recovery—is essential. The tester must remain independent of solution development and must not approve code or configuration changes that they created.

What we’ll offer you

As part of our flexible scheme, here are just some of the benefits that you’ll enjoy

  • Best in class leave policy
  • Gender neutral parental leaves
  • 100% reimbursement under childcare assistance benefit (gender neutral)
  • Sponsorship for Industry relevant certifications and education
  • Employee Assistance Program for you and your family members
  • Comprehensive Hospitalization Insurance for you and your dependents
  • Accident and Term life Insurance
  • Complementary Health screening for 35 yrs. and above

Your key responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end test approach for Data Security automation, integration, workflow, database, and reporting changes, including scope, estimates, dependencies, risks, entry criteria, and exit criteria.
  • Analyse requirements and solution designs from a quality perspective, challenge ambiguity, define acceptance criteria, and maintain bidirectional traceability between requirements, controls, test cases, defects, and evidence.
  • Design test scenarios and test cases for every new rollout, ensuring coverage of business requirements, technical changes, control objectives, integrations, user journeys, exception paths, and operational impacts before deployment.
  • Plan and lead end-to-end dry runs and tabletop exercises with relevant stakeholders to challenge the solution design, validate end-to-end process readiness, confirm roles and hand-offs, and verify that all reasonably foreseeable business, technical, control, exception, failure, recovery, and operational scenarios have been considered and addressed.
  • Design detailed test scenarios, cases, scripts, and expected results covering positive, negative, boundary, exception, recovery, reconciliation, and end-to-end business journeys.
  • Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and exploratory testing across PowerShell services, C#/.NET applications, SQL Server components, scheduled jobs, service accounts, APIs, and reporting outputs.
  • Validate data integrity and interface processing across HR sources, Active Directory, LDAP, SQL Server, Web Services, and Symantec DLP through source-to-target reconciliation, transformation checks, duplicate handling, missing-data scenarios, and failure-path validation.
  • Perform specialist testing of Symantec DLP workflows, including Workflow Designer and Process Manager configurations, reports, dashboards, approvals, notifications, entitlements, escalations, exceptions, and operational recovery.
  • Develop and maintain test automation assets for repeatable regression, API, database, data-validation, and workflow checks, with reusable scripts and controlled test results.
  • Coordinate test environments and test data, confirm environment readiness, manage dependencies, protect sensitive information, and ensure test conditions are controlled and reproducible.
  • Manage the complete defect lifecycle, including clear defect documentation, severity assessment, triage, root-cause collaboration, retesting, regression impact assessment, closure evidence, and ageing analysis.
  • Lead SIT assurance and support UAT by preparing execution packs, coordinating stakeholders, tracking progress, validating evidence, and ensuring business acceptance remains with the designated business owner.
  • Assess non-functional and operational readiness, including performance, resilience, logging, monitoring, access controls, scheduling, error handling, recoverability, deployment validation, and support handover.
  • Produce quality metrics and auditable test evidence covering execution status, requirement coverage, pass rates, defect trends, residual risks, control validation, and test completion.
  • Provide an independent release-readiness recommendation against agreed quality gates and exit criteria, clearly documenting unresolved defects, exceptions, limitations, and residual risk for the release authority.
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing practices through reusable assets, regression optimization, defect-prevention insights, lessons learned, and consistent quality standards across Agile delivery teams.

Your skills and experience

  • Extensive hands-on software testing and quality-assurance experience across enterprise automation, workflow, integration, database, and reporting platforms.
  • Strong command of test methodologies and techniques, including risk-based testing, requirements-based testing, boundary-value analysis, equivalence partitioning, negative testing, exploratory testing, regression selection, and defect-based testing.
  • Proven test leadership capability covering test strategy, planning, estimation, governance, traceability, quality gates, metrics, evidence, and release-readiness assessment.
  • Essential Symantec DLP testing experience with Workflow Designer, Process Manager, workflow configuration, reporting automation, dashboards, approvals, notifications, entitlements, exceptions, and operational support scenarios.
  • Strong SQL-based testing skills for source-to-target validation, reconciliation, stored-procedure testing, data-quality checks, transformation validation, and investigation of processing failures.
  • Experience testing APIs and Web Services, including SOAP/XML, interface contracts, authentication, error responses, time-outs, retries, and downstream processing.
  • Working knowledge of C#, .NET Framework, and PowerShell sufficient for technical analysis, log interpretation, test-data setup, test automation, and effective defect diagnosis; production development ownership is not part of this role.
  • Experience validating Active Directory, LDAP, identity integrations, RBAC, Data Security controls, IIS, Windows Server, service accounts, and scheduled processes.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks or scripting for API, database, workflow, and regression testing; ability to create maintainable automated checks is preferred.
  • Strong experience in SIT, UAT support, defect triage, regression testing, production validation, test reporting, and audit-ready evidence management.
  • Sound understanding of segregation of duties, independent verification, secure change management, control testing, and release governance.
  • Experience in Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, test estimation, sprint planning, acceptance-criteria review, continuous testing, and quality reporting.
  • Preferred: ServiceNow testing or integration experience, relevant testing certification, and experience within regulated Financial Services environments.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the independence to challenge inadequate coverage, weak evidence, unresolved defects, and unacceptable release risk.
  • Experience Range: 8+ years of software testing and quality-assurance experience, including ownership of testing for complex enterprise automation, workflow, integration, data, and reporting solutions.
