Your role and responsibilities

At ABB Marine & Ports, you'll have the opportunity to lead innovation in a rapidly evolving industry. As a Senior R&D Engineer, you'll drive the development of advanced marine solutions, collaborate with experts across disciplines, and help deliver technologies that shape the future of sustainable shipping.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Maintaining recognized expertise in a specific area by integrating the latest developments in technologies, tools, and methodologies into your work.

• Finding new ways of solving problems by following your ideas, creating hypotheses, and defining ways to validate them.

• Documenting work results (like findings, designs, or software), allowing others to maintain and improve them.

• Understanding and initiating IP generation in your area of specialization and participating in the project IP strategy development.

Qualifications for the role

• You hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering or a related field.

• You have at least 5 years of experience working with IT/OT infrastructure in roles such as Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, Technical Specialist, Solution Architect or similar.

• You have solid experience in designing, implementing and managing IT/OT infrastructure, including server platforms, virtualization, containerization, industrial networks and cybersecurity solutions.

• You have strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms and modern IT/OT environments.

• You are experienced in network architecture, system integration, monitoring solutions, automation and Infrastructure as Code. Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible and source control tools such as Git is considered an advantage.

• You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and collaborating with stakeholders across functions to deliver secure, reliable and high-quality solutions.

• You communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken. Swedish language skills are considered an advantage.
