Core Engineering Products in the Platform Engineering Org supports NVIDIA’s software delivery, model publishing, and AI development. We are hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer to architect and develop AI automation that enables engineering teams to address issues, retrieve services, and finalize development workflows more efficiently.

You will lead the technical direction, architecture, implementation, and quality of production automation across these platforms. This is a hands-on role in software engineering, with the majority of your time spent on coding.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Establish the long-term technical vision for AI automation and agentic workflows, converting recurring developer needs into reusable software capabilities.
  • Own complete software projects from architecture and implementation through deployment and ongoing improvement, independently making technical decisions that determine delivery success.
  • Build agents and services that interpret requests, retrieve relevant knowledge, diagnose issues, and complete approved actions across platform APIs and enterprise systems.
  • Automate onboarding, provisioning, publishing assistance, and troubleshooting so developers can focus more on building NVIDIA products instead of waiting for support.
  • Engineer reliable execution through evaluation, testing, observability, retries, recovery, and human approval where required.
  • Build identity-aware authorization, credential protection, auditability, and data-access boundaries into agent workflows so automation can operate safely with enterprise information.
  • Lead delivery across platform engineering, security, identity, and developer teams, establishing shared interfaces and engineering practices that support adoption beyond the immediate team.
  • Mentor engineers and guide build and code reviews to improve software quality and the team’s ability to deliver automation.
  • Measure outcomes through reduced manual effort, faster request completion, successful workflow execution, developer adoption, and reliability.

What we need to see:

  • 10+ years of strong software engineering experience building and operating production services, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ownership of architecture and delivery for complex software projects, including defining technical direction with minimal mentorship.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or another backend language, with strong practices in testing, code review, CI/CD, and production debugging.
  • Experience building LLM applications or agentic workflows, including tool integration, retrieval, evaluation, and failure handling.
  • Ability to build secure integrations involving enterprise identity, permissions, credentials, and sensitive data.
  • A record of leading cross-team technical initiatives, communicating complex decisions clearly, and mentoring engineers.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience delivering AI automation with measurable reductions in support effort or developer wait time.
  • Familiarity with artifact repositories, model registries, experiment tracking, and software delivery workflows.
  • Experience working with enterprise workflow connections like ServiceNow and Jira, along with platforms including Artifactory, Hugging Face, CDN.
  • Experience crafting reusable agent tools and integrations using APIs, event-driven systems, or Model Context Protocol.

Questions you could be asked

  1. How do you decide when an AI agent can act on its own versus asking for approval first?
  2. Tell me about a workflow you automated with AI tools, end to end.
  3. Tell me about a project where software engineering was part of your work. What did you do?
  4. Tell me about a project where agentic workflows was part of your work. What did you do?
  5. Tell me about a project where distributed systems was part of your work. What did you do?

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: AI agents, AI Automation, Software Engineering, Agentic Workflows, and Distributed Systems. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Lead with what you built, trained or shipped. This role is judged on the AI system itself, not the tools around it.
