Software Engineering Technical Leader

Who you Are

You are a senior software engineer with deep technical breadth across architecture, software development, and operations. You lead through both execution and influence, shaping technical direction while enabling teams to deliver high-impact outcomes. You have substantial experience applying AI and machine learning to enterprise software and platform operations and can guide adoption patterns that are scalable, secure, and measurable.

What you'll Do

As a Software Engineer, you will lead strategic platform automation and user-facing capabilities that improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience across Cisco IT cloud services. This role includes leading AI-enabled capabilities, including assistant or agent-driven workflows, intent-based interactions, and ML-enabled operational intelligence. You will drive major initiatives from concept through operation, partnering across product, platform, and engineering organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of complex software capabilities that improve cloud platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency in a DevOps model.

• Define and implement AI-enabled platform patterns that improve user journeys and operational outcomes across services.

• Architect and guide implementation of cloud-native microservices and APIs in Kubernetes-based environments.

• Drive cross-organizational technical planning, architecture alignment, and delivery execution.

• Apply LLM/ML frameworks (for example LangChain, LangGraph, PyTorch, or TensorFlow) to enterprise-scale production use cases.

• Lead improvements in observability, resiliency engineering, and automation strategy.

• Establish high standards for CI/CD, code quality, release reliability, and secure engineering practices.

• Lead production-readiness, incident learning, and long-term reliability programs.

• Mentor and develop engineers, and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience. MS preferred.

• 9+ years of software development experience with Python and/or Go in enterprise cloud environments.

• Deep experience in cloud-native architecture, APIs, microservices, and platform automation.

• Strong experience with Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, and DevOps/SRE-aligned operating models.

• Proven experience delivering AI/ML-enabled capabilities in production and scaling adoption across teams.

• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL data platforms and distributed systems concerns.

• Demonstrated technical leadership, communication, and cross-functional influence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience defining AI strategy and implementation standards for platform engineering organizations.

• Experience with hybrid cloud platforms and enterprise-scale infrastructure services.

• Deep expertise in observability, reliability engineering, and operational excellence practices.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, policy governance, and secure software supply chains.

• Strong track record of mentorship, talent development, and technical community leadership.
