Job Summary

Visa's CEMEA Internal Data & Analytics team is seeking a highly motivated Data Science Manager to develop and scale AI-enabled products, analytics platforms and self-service decision-support capabilities that empower business teams across CEMEA.

This role sits at the intersection of Data Science, Software Engineering, GenAI and Business Analytics. The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders to build scalable solutions that transform data into actionable insights, automate decision-making workflows and accelerate adoption of AI across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

AI Products & Agentic Solutions

• Design, develop and deploy AI-powered business applications and self-service analytics products.
• Build agentic AI solutions leveraging LLMs, GenAI platforms and conversational interfaces.
• Develop AI-enabled decision support tools that drive measurable business outcomes.
• Own the product lifecycle from ideation through deployment and adoption.

Data Science & Advanced Analytics

• Build predictive models, optimization solutions and recommendation engines.
• Apply machine learning, statistical modelling and experimentation techniques to solve business problems.
• Translate complex business challenges into scalable analytics and AI solutions.
• Deliver measurable business impact through data-driven decision making.

Data Democratization & Analytics Platforms

• Enhance and expand IRIS capabilities and broader Project LEGO initiatives.
• Build self-service analytics solutions that reduce reliance on manual reporting.
• Develop reusable data products, analytical assets and business intelligence solutions.
• Enable business users to access trusted insights through modern analytics experiences.

Engineering & Solution Development

• Develop production-grade applications using Python and modern development frameworks.
• Build APIs, backend services and scalable analytical workflows.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Apply software engineering best practices including version control, testing and deployment automation.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner directly with leaders across Marketing, Cross-Border, Products, Compliance, Corporate Communications and other business functions.
• Gather requirements, prioritize opportunities and communicate insights effectively.
• Act as a trusted advisor on analytics, AI and data-driven decision making.

What Success Looks Like

• Build scalable AI products with measurable business impact.
• Increase adoption of self-service analytics and data democratization capabilities.
• Reduce manual reporting effort through automation and AI.
• Deliver high-quality products independently with minimal oversight.
• Contribute reusable assets and accelerators to the CEMEA Data Science Hub.
• Establish trusted partnerships with business stakeholders and internal teams.

Role Type: Individual Contributor (Hands-on Development & Product Delivery Role)
People Management Responsibility: None. This role is expected to personally design, build and deploy solutions rather than manage a team.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, Machine Learning or AI-related roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience delivering end-to-end analytical or AI solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing GenAI, agentic AI or LLM-based applications.
• Experience with FastAPI, React or modern application frameworks.
• Experience building self-service analytics or data products.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern data architectures.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders and senior leaders.
• Experience operating independently in a fast-paced environment.
