Amazon Business Japan is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own selection for business customers. You will decide what products we need to offer to support Japanese customers, from small businesses to large multi-national organizations, as well as institutional buyers like universities, schools, hospitals and public offices. You will find where we have opportunities to serve them better, and build the mechanisms that close those gaps at Amazon scale.

Our team's mission is to make Amazon Business the solution Japanese businesses trust for their purchasing. The team is responsible for pricing, selection, quotation, and in-stock availability for all the products Amazon Business offers.

You will directly contribute to the growth of the business by making sure Amazon carries the products our customers need, in the sizes they need, from individual units to bulk quantity offerings.

At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture.

What we expect from this role:
- Own the selection strategy and goals for business customers in Japan, and the analysis and reporting behind them
- Identify gaps between what business customers want to buy and what is available today, using purchase data, search data, customer feedback and benchmarks, and size the opportunity for each
- Build mechanisms that find missing or unavailable products systematically and route them to the teams that can add or recover them, so the work scales beyond manual, one-at-a-time evaluation
- Drive adoption with the teams that add and manage selection: Japan retail category teams, brand and vendor management, third-party seller teams, and global Amazon Business product teams
- Communicate progress, risks and plans to leadership with data

Why you would want this role:
- The team is high performing and likes to have fun
- Selection is the foundation of the business customer experience. When you fix a gap, customers who could not buy from us before can, and you see it in the numbers within weeks
- You own the problem end to end, from customer research to goal setting to the mechanisms that deliver it
- We invest in automation and AI to enable new capabilities and you will have room to build

Key job responsibilities
- Assess voice of customers, purchase and search data, and benchmarks to identify selection gaps for business customers in Japan, and size the opportunity for each.
- Define and own Japan selection goals for business customers, including the analysis, targets and reporting behind them, and communicate progress, risks and plans to leadership.
- Build and maintain mechanisms that identify missing or unavailable products systematically, prioritize them by customer impact, and route them to the teams that can add or recover them.
- Work closely with the global Amazon Business product and program management teams to understand the mid- to long-term selection roadmap and reflect Japan-specific requirements.
- Partner with the sales teams who work with business customers daily to capture selection requests from customer deals and turn recurring requests into standing programs.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Tax and Finance to assess requirements when new product categories or programs are introduced.

A day in the life
Your week centers on one question: what do business customers in Japan want to buy that they cannot buy from us today and do we have the right plans to solve this problem ? Mornings may start with data, reviewing progress on initiatives and what the sales teams heard from customers.
When you find an opportunity, you surface it and collaboratively identify and drive a solution. The rest of your time goes into building mechanisms that solve Customers problems at scale.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Product Management, Strategy, Data Analysis, and Generative AI. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list — this role treats it as a required part of the job.
