Sr. Technical Program Manager, Worldwide Promotions and Events

Join Amazon's Worldwide Promotions team and drive the transformation of Amazon's global promotions experience. Our team is at the forefront of developing innovative promotional technologies that reach millions of customers every day and drive significant business impact across Amazon.

In this Sr. TPM role, you'll lead high impact, cross-team and cross-org customer-facing initiatives that will transform how, when, and where we show promotions to Amazon's customers. This will include new, highly personalized and inspiring promotional experiences that are used by millions of customers worldwide, and partner initiatives built on top of promotions core services and primitives. Additionally, you'll work closely with our product and tech teams, internal partners, and international marketplaces to build one consolidated, global promotions CX roadmap, while ensuring that we have the right support and operating mechanisms to deliver and communicate on progress across teams.

To succeed, you'll bring strong project management experience, including experience leading and organizing complex and ambiguous cross-team and cross-org projects; technical acumen that will enable you to dive into and help resolve technical issues and quickly unblock critical workstreams; a demonstrated track record of creating and managing operational excellence initiatives and establishing processes that help our teams scale; and a highly collaborative, listen-first approach that will allow you to earn trust with the many teams who rely on promotions to drive customer and business outcomes. You should also have strong written communications skills and executive presence to guide senior leadership conversations and share proactive updates with stakeholders, and customer-facing instincts and experience that will help guide independent decision making for some of Amazon's highest traffic experiences.

Key job responsibilities
- Work across Engineering, Product, Business, Legal, and Finance to capture and translate requirements into an actionable delivery roadmap.
- Lead cross-functional and cross-org projects, dependencies, and risks, and make appropriate tradeoffs weighing value vs time to market.
- Own regular, proactive, and clear communication mechanisms to keep senior leadership and stakeholders informed of program progress, risks, timelines, and high judgement decisions.
- Lead effective and efficient delivery of large, complex customer-facing projects

About the team

Basic qualifications

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred qualifications

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
