Storyous | Senior Software Engineer (Full-stack)
AI in this role
About Storyous:
Twelve years ago, Storyous started as a small start-up, helping cafés and restaurants run their business with a Point of Sale (POS) system on a simple wooden stand. Today, we're one of the market leaders in Czechia, providing an all-in-one platform that powers thousands of hospitality businesses.
Our product has grown far beyond POS to include menu and table management, inventory management, user management and access controls, delivery integrations, and integrated payments. Since joining forces with British FinTech Teya (formerly SaltPay) in 2021, we've continued to expand our platform while staying true to our mission: helping entrepreneurs spend less time on operations and more time creating great experiences for their customers.
About the role:
We are hiring a full-stack Software Engineer with a strong focus on TypeScript, Node.js, any modern frontend and NoSQL to work on mission-critical microservices that power our POS ecosystem — APIs, databases, billing, and integrations. The role involves maintaining and extending existing systems, building new features and improving observability.
We are looking for engineers with proven production experience, who can take ownership of medium-sized initiatives, drive from technical refinement through release, communicate effectively with cross-technology teams (PHP, Vue.js, Android Kotlin), write clean, testable code, and thrive in a continuous delivery within fast-paced release cycle environment.
On a regular day as a Software Engineer, you will:
Focus on delivering software components and improvements to your team’s software. In addition to new code, this often includes refactoring and deprecation work.
Write clean, secure, and well-tested code to solve business problems.
Build tools and integrate systems to scale the effectiveness of products across the business.
Collaborate and communicate effectively within the team and across the organization to achieve the team’s goals.
Continuously work to improve while being empathetic and considerate with others.
Act as a full life cycle Software Engineer, meaning be able to do code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and release.
Requirements:
5+ years of professional full-stack development experience (TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js)
Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, including error handling, and caching
Experience with NoSQL and relational databases (MongoDB, MariaDB)
Basic cloud/infrastructure experience (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Heroku)
Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests, habit of testing own work without being asked
Familiarity with observability, logging, metrics and debugging tools
Confident with Git workflows, branching, CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub Actions)
Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor)
Ability to work independently on medium-sized features from ticket to release
Team player, strong communication skills, including with non-technical stakeholders
Fluent written and spoken English as this is the primary language of our international team
Willingness to participate in on-call duty rotations
Willingness to learn unfamiliar parts of application to improve it and enhance own skills
Working from office at least 2-3 days a week
Perks:
26 days of Annual leave, home office, sick days
Benefit Plus Cafeteria
Fresh fruits in the office and specialty coffee every day
Friendly, comfortable, and informal office environment
Flexible working hours if it suits you and your team
Glean AI for company-wide knowledge search, with frontier LLMs
Access to the Elredo audiobook library
Diverse team environment with 8+ nationalities and 26% female engineers
Frequent team events & activities in the office and outside

Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: Claude, Copilot, and Cursor. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
