Technology Lead - AVP

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Technology Lead - AVP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

• Design, develop, and maintain Java Spring Boot–based applications and microservices supporting financial crime transaction monitoring systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Design, implement, and support AWS cloud environments for application workloads, including compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and security services; perform end to end setup and configuration across development, testing, and production environments; implement AWS native logging and monitoring; and investigate production issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions to maintain application and infrastructure controls.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, supporting automated builds, testing, infrastructure deployment, and controlled releases across AWS environments.
• Utilize Databricks as a data processing and analytics platform to develop and execute Python and PySpark–based workloads, supporting distributed data processing, validation, and analytical tasks for transaction monitoring and related systems.
• Apply Generative AI technical capabilities by using Amazon Bedrock and related AWS services to support end to end GenAI application development, including implementation of required technical controls, risk mitigation mechanisms, and governance for enterprise GenAI workloads.
• Perform Scrum Master responsibilities by facilitating Agile ceremonies, tracking sprint progress, and addressing technical impediments to support consistent delivery in alignment with established Agile practices.
• Work in a cross technology, horizontal capacity supporting multiple team programs and initiatives, including solutions involving OpenShift container based deployments, workflow orchestration platforms, and Generative AI projects.
• Support people development activities by participating in technical interviews, mentoring junior developers, and providing technical guidance to support development standards and delivery quality.
• Communicate complex and sensitive technical information related to application behavior, cloud platform risks, and remediation activities to technical and non technical stakeholders.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $193,461 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $200,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
