Job Description:

At TD Securities, the CIB-Credit function is an integral part of the full suite of services we offer under Corporate & Investment Banking.  Our banking professionals provide corporate and institutional clients with capital markets and banking advice and transaction executions worldwide.

At TD Securities you will continue to expand on your knowledge in the industry, gaining valuable experience while you develop into a senior banker.  You will be exposed to a wide variety of clients, financing structures and products.  You will also work in a team environment, building your corporate and leveraged finance banking skills necessary to be successful in the industry. 

Vice Presidents lead corporate banking transactions and work closely with the Investment Banking team and clients on newly originated transactions and refinancings, as well as with our debt capital markets, equity capital markets, syndication and risk management teams.  In addition, Vice Presidents mentor junior professionals who are assigned to support them for deal execution. 

· Prepare and recommend high-quality credit submissions for companies in the energy industry including oil & gas producers, midstream, downstream, and chemicals.

· Lead due diligence and oversee the research and analysis of clients’ financial performance.

· Construct or oversee building of detailed models that establish suitable capital structures and financial covenants.

· Conduct market, industry, and client research in support of the ongoing risk assessment process.

· Oversee and provide detailed analysis of reserve engineering data and work with TD’s external engineer to ascertain proper lending capacity for upstream clients.

· Monitor the performance of assigned borrowers to ensure compliance with covenants, as well as with loan terms and conditions, and ensure that the risk ratings for the borrowers are accurate.

· Review legal documentation and ensure that it reflects the details of the credit authorization accurately.

· Work closely with Relationship Managers/Investment Banking in ensuring that the credit arrangements function effectively in line with the underlying strategy for the account, and adequately balance risk and return.

· Identify/recognize cross-sell opportunities and coordinate with other business units/product groups as appropriate.

· Ensure that TD policies and reporting requirements are met.

· Continue to build on and enhance your detailed knowledge of trends in the energy and chemicals industries.

· Participate in project working groups and/or internal committees.

· Engage with and develop junior staff to enable them to meet challenges, department objectives and achieve full potential.

· Interact with clients, lawyers, syndicate banks, and risk adjudicators.

· Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Economics.

· 5+ years of related corporate banking credit experience covering Energy and/or Chemicals.

· Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis including financial modeling and company/industry analysis.

· Strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and strong attention to detail.
