Key Result Areas

  • Lead the development and periodic review of the content strategy by identifying priority themes and global topics to ensure alignment with Qatar Foundation’s institutional mission and values.
  • Review editorial content across Doha Debates formats to assess programmatic strengths, identify improvement areas, and support innovation opportunities.
  • Ensure the inclusion of diverse and underrepresented perspectives in programming to broaden audience relevance and support Doha Debates’ global positioning.
  • Lead speaker and guest identification efforts by leveraging relevant professional networks to support the selection of high-quality contributors for global programming.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to the Editorial Team on topic framing, narrative development, and content quality to strengthen overall editorial impact.
  • Serve as the editorial point of coordination with executive leadership and the Office of Strategic Initiatives to support alignment with organizational priorities and content objectives.
  • Represent Doha Debates as an on-camera host and presenter, as required, to support consistent and professional delivery across content platforms.
  • Monitor and assess content performance, audience engagement, and feedback across relevant platforms to inform content planning, editorial improvement, and future programming decisions.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks assigned by the supervisor in support of Doha Debates’ operational and strategic requirements.

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, International Relations, Political Science, Media Production, or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 8–10 years of relevant full-time work experience in editorial, media, or content strategy roles, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex editorial initiatives and guide content planning across multiple formats.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and network-building skills, with experience supporting speaker, contributor, or partnership identification.
  • Strong understanding of diverse international perspectives and the ability to develop content that broadens audience relevance beyond traditional media narratives.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
