This position reports to:

Business Line MV Drives Service Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be part of the engineering team delivering medium voltage drive modernization and upgrade projects. You will create and maintain mechanical design documentation, engineering drawings, bills of material and project-specific deliverables that enable efficient manufacturing, installation, and project execution. Working closely with experienced engineers and senior designers, you will contribute to the successful and timely delivery of customer projects by ensuring accurate technical documentation, effective change management, and high-quality engineering data.

This role is contributing to Motion Services Switzerland in Untersiggenthal. Main stakeholders are Project Management, Sales, Production, Field Service, and fellow Engineering team members.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Creating and maintaining mechanical drawings, manufacturing documentation, and project-specific design deliverables using CAD tools.
Managing bills of materials, engineering changes, and technical documentation in SAP and related engineering systems and supporting technical feasibility studies.
Contributing to the project execution by preparing documentation packages for manufacturing, installation, and commissioning activities while ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements.
Collaborating closely with Project Management, Production, Field Service, and Supply Chain teams to optimize technical documentation and support on-time project delivery.

Qualifications for the role

Completed vocational education as a Mechanical Designer (Konstrukteur/in EFZ) or comparable technical qualification.
A few years of experience in mechanical design, drafting, or engineering support within an industrial environment.
Experience with 3D CAD tools, preferably Solid Edge, and creating technical drawings for manufacturing.
Familiarity with SAP for bill of materials, document management, and engineering change processes.
Hands-on mindset and willingness to work closely with production and project execution teams.
Structured and detail-oriented working style with high standards for quality and accuracy, combined with a continuous improvement mindset.
Fluent in German and comfortable communicating in English.

You will join a practical and experienced engineering team supporting customer modernization and upgrade projects for medium voltage drives. Under the mentorship of senior colleagues, you will develop technical expertise and gradually take ownership of increasingly complex engineering and documentation tasks.
