About the role

As Head of Autoimmune Diabetes T1D Italy, you will lead the launch in Italy of this breakthrough therapy. You'll drive commercial strategy, build health system readiness, and help redefine the standard of care in preventive medicine — all while working in one of pharma's most dynamic and high-visibility spaces. You will report directly to the General Manager and also be a member of the GenMed Italy leadership team, having a meaningful impact above your T1D franchise Head role and supporting the vision and ambition of the entire GBU in Italy.

About Sanofi:

At Sanofi, we chase the miracles of science to improve people's lives. Tzield/Teizeild — our first-in-class, disease-modifying therapy for Autoimmune Type 1 Diabetes — is re-defining the way we used to manage T1D.
Approved in the US, EU, UK, China, Canada, Australia and beyond, it delays the onset of stage 3 T1D and gives patients and families more time and hope. Our target is to launch it in Italy by mid-2027.


  

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the T1D team to launch successfully Tzield/Teizeild in the Italy
    • co-build the Integrated Growth Plan with Global, translate insights into local execution, and track performance through meaningful KPIs
    • Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., Medical, Market Access, Public Affairs, Communications) — define a broad stakeholder engagement strategy by understanding how stakeholders impact each other in ecosystem (e.g., COEs, KOLs, HCPs, DOLs, scientific societies, PAGs, policy makers, payers, think-tanks, etc.) and tailor engagement to their level of maturity in T1D journey
    • Adapt and execute Glocal state of the art — multi-factorial stakeholder engagement to local context (incl. Omnichannel with compelling narrative/content)
  • Secure optimal market access for Teizeild — obtain the best access that reflects its therapeutic innovation
  • Drive treatment launch uptake — support infusion readiness in the centers of excellence, develop acceptance of Teizeild, conviction in the health care community, to establish it as the reference therapy in pre-clinical T1D

  • Shape the healthcare system to ensure full readiness at time of launch and beyond:
    • Accelerate screening — scale the detection of at-risk patients at the right moment in their T1D journey, building on established foundations
    • & Accompany the long-term screening access strategy in Italy — coordinate action across Population Health, Medical, Public Affairs and Communications to secure sustainable access to screening
    • Drive innovation to accelerate and simplify the pre-clinical T1D patient journey — leverage AI models to identify at-risk patients and predict disease progression, enabling earlier and more precise intervention
    • Expand the ecosystem — strengthen partnerships across screening players, COEs, payers and patient communities to ensure a seamless pathway from screening to treatment
  • Anticipate the future of immunotherapy in T1D — beyond Teizeild, help shape the landscape for Sanofi's upcoming pipeline innovations and establish Sanofi's scientific leadership in T1D
  • Monitor and stay ahead of market trends and developments — drive improvements in business outcomes and customer experience
  • Lead and grow the team — continue developing a best-in-class commercial organization (marketing, sales, patient experience, pathway management) with an intrapreneurial mindset
  • Contribute in the GenMed Italy Leadership team as core member to define the vision, roadmap and ambition of GenMed Italy including performance, transformation and talent development.

 

About you :

Experience: Desired experience in Specialty / Rare disease / Type 1 Diabetes

  • At least 10 years of industry experience in Sales / Marketing on launch brands, ideally with disease area shaping. Skills in brand planning, Omnichannel strategy, Sales teams leadership with a strong focus on customer centricity and excellence in execution; Demonstrated successful Brand P&L Ownership accountability
  • Above country experience in a Global or Regional role is a plus
  • Led Local Brand Team

  • Strong ability to lead, simplify and move at pace large complex programs
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance and vision
  • Appetite for execution and strong team player mindset including excellence in medical collaboration
  • Self-driven, results-oriented operating with high standards of ambition and collaboration ("the what and the how")
  • Leadership and people development: Ability to build, engage and develop the team, delegate effectively, celebrate diversity within the team, and drive performance
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and cultivate effective relationships, and to influence and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels
  • Curiosity to contribute beyond scope in the GenMed Italian Leadership Team

 

Technical skills:

  • Experience in building partnerships with key stakeholders (universities, hospitals, healthcare providers etc) and leveraging Omnichannel
  • Deep understanding of the Italian healthcare ecosystem
  • Capability to be strategic while mastering the details/execution when needed
  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills

 

Education: Advanced Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related field

Languages: Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Italian both written and verbal

The salary range for this position is :€99.200,00 - €132.267

Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
