Data Center Technical Support Operations Engr, AWS Infraoperation DCEO

Data Center Technical Support Engineering Operations Technician (EOT )is responsible for operating and maintaining all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The EOT serves as a technical resource to support Amazon data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. EOT’s are also tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
EOT’s are data center's front line responders for support electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS’s, PDU’s, AHU’s, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFD’s, and building automation systems.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities:
English (both written and spoken English) as standard language to fulfill responsibilities below
- Support maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Assist root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
- Support take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment
- Able to work a 12 hour shift to support 24/7 operations (rotating 3 to 4 day work weeks)

Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in vendor management
- Experience in data center engineering or operations
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience
- Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License
- operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent
- Experience in construction or project management
