Job Purpose
The Director – Fixed Income & Structured Credit Trading is responsible for supporting and executing the Bank’s fixed income and structured credit trading activities across approved products, markets and jurisdictions. The role is accountable for contributing to sustainable risk-adjusted revenues, managing assigned trading positions within approved limits, supporting client execution requirements and maintaining disciplined pricing, hedging, liquidity and risk management standards. The role works closely with Sales, Structuring, Research, Risk and Control Functions to deliver market-making, client facilitation and structured credit solutions in line with Treasury & Global Markets strategy, governance standards and regulatory expectations.
Key Result Areas
• Execute fixed income and structured credit trading activities in line with approved desk strategy, mandates and risk appetite.
• Contribute to revenue generation and risk-adjusted returns across assigned trading books and product areas.
• Manage assigned positions, inventory, hedging strategies and market risk within approved limits.
• Provide competitive pricing, liquidity and execution support to Sales and Structuring teams.
• Support trading across bonds, sukuk, credit products, structured notes, credit-linked instruments and other approved fixed income or structured credit products.
• Monitor market developments, credit trends, liquidity conditions, issuer performance, rates movements and macroeconomic factors affecting trading activity.
• Support client franchise growth through responsive execution, market insight and product expertise.
• Ensure trades are priced, executed, booked, confirmed and monitored in accordance with approved procedures.
• Maintain strong market conduct, governance, control and escalation discipline across trading activities.
• Support desk initiatives relating to product development, process improvement, analytics, automation and platform enhancement.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• CFA, FRM, ACI Dealing Certificate or equivalent markets qualification preferred.
• Significant experience in fixed income trading, structured credit, credit markets, debt capital markets or investment banking.
• Strong knowledge of bonds, sukuk, credit products, structured notes, credit-linked instruments, hedging and market-making.
• Good understanding of market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, valuation, capital usage, trade lifecycle and regulatory requirements.
• Experience working with Sales, Structuring, Risk, Operations and Control Functions in a regulated financial institution.
• Strong analytical capability, commercial judgment, execution discipline, stakeholder management and ability to operate under pressure.
