Working within Merchandising Capabilities, your mission will be to help build and sustain an industry-leading portfolio of global capabilities that drive financial growth, enable efficiency, and unlock joy for each Guest. Our teams and products are aligned to key enterprise functions to accelerate and support Target’s strategy through connected processes, innovative technology, and a best-in-class team. As a member of the Merchandising Capabilities team, you will help build, enable, and advance critical business capabilities that support both day-to-day operations and the future of merchandising.

As an Enterprise Clearance Strategy Lead, you’ll take the lead in shaping and scaling Target’s enterprise Clearance capability, building the strategies, tools, and processes that drive optimal financial outcomes and align with our broader price perception and operational goals. Your work will span building the process and capability for long-range planning that syncs with in-season execution, ensuring that Clearance is positioned as a strategic lever across the organization. You’ll drive capability building by influencing priorities across Product, Data Science, and Analytics—leading the integration of tools like IVY with planning systems, and accelerating automation efforts for program setup, forecasting, and in-season tracking. Your leadership will ensure that our optimization tools continue to evolve to meet the dynamic needs of the business.

You’ll also support Enterprise Clearance initiatives—partnering to simplify and automate clearance processes, define playbooks and guardrails, and bring consistency to how we plan and execute Clearance strategies from long-range planning (LRP) through to in-season actions. Your influence will extend into critical clearance price initiatives (like flex fulfill clearance) that impact our guest and teams across the enterprise.

In addition, you’ll be a key player in enterprise level EOS planning efforts—supporting cross-functional teams during high-impact seasonal transitions (like Q4) and ensuring that strategic intent translates to effective execution. Your success will rely on your ability to lead through influence, drive cross-functional alignment, and use data to identify risks and opportunities. You'll bring strategic problem-solving, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset to a highly dynamic space. In turn, we’ll support you with robust onboarding, development resources, and the chance to grow as a strategic thought partner across the enterprise. The exciting part of retail? It’s always changing—and Clearance is no exception.

Core responsibilities are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:

• 6+ years previous merchandising experience (ex: Enterprise Price, Merch, PIM, finance, etc.)
• Experience leading complex projects and enterprise strategies
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maximize relationships
• Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical, decision-making, project management, planning and organizational skills
