Manager Compliance

MongoDB is looking for a Manager, International Compliance to own statutory, regulatory, and corporate compliance for MongoDB's entities outside the US. This role sits at the intersection of Controllership, Legal, and Tax, ensuring MongoDB operates in full compliance with local corporate, tax, labor, and exchange control regulations across its international footprint, while supporting the broader global controllership agenda. This is a strong fit for someone who thrives on owning a compliance function across multiple jurisdictions, has strong experience navigating varied regulatory frameworks, and can lead a small team while partnering closely with global Finance, Legal, and Tax stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

• Own end-to-end compliance for MongoDB's international entities across corporate, tax, exchange control, and applicable labor law requirements in each jurisdiction
• Ensure timely filing of statutory returns, registers, and disclosures across countries, coordinating with local advisors and in-country teams where needed
• Monitor changes in regulatory requirements across MongoDB's international markets and proactively assess impact on operations
• Maintain a compliance calendar and tracker spanning all applicable jurisdictions and statutes, with clear ownership and escalation paths

Corporate Governance & Secretarial Coordination

• Coordinate with local company secretaries, external counsel, and registered agents on board meetings, resolutions, annual filings, and other corporate governance requirements across entities
• Support entity structuring, intercompany agreements, and any new entity registrations, migrations, or closures internationally
• Maintain statutory registers across jurisdictions and ensure corporate records are audit-ready at all times

Tax & Exchange Control Compliance

• Partner with the Global Tax team on transfer pricing documentation, filings, and audits specific to international entities
• Ensure compliance with local exchange control and cross-border transaction reporting requirements in relevant jurisdictions
• Support local tax assessments, notices, and inquiries in coordination with external advisors

Controls & Audit

• Maintain and strengthen internal controls (including SOX) over international compliance processes
• Serve as a key point of contact for statutory auditors, internal auditors, and local tax authorities on international compliance matters
• Identify control gaps, document process narratives, and drive remediation in partnership with Controllership and Internal Audit

Team Leadership

• Supervise and mentor a small compliance team, reviewing work product and building technical depth across jurisdictions
• Set priorities during peak filing cycles and manage workload across the team

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner closely with Legal on regulatory matters, licenses, and corporate approvals across international entities
• Work with HR on local labor law compliance, including statutory benefits, employment filings, and other country-specific employee-related obligations
• Support FP&A and Global Controllership with compliance-related reporting and risk assessments
• Act as the international compliance point of contact for global stakeholders navigating local regulatory requirements

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to standardize and automate compliance tracking and filings across jurisdictions (e.g., through compliance management tools or improved workflows)
• Support system implementations or process changes affecting international statutory and regulatory reporting

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressive experience in international statutory compliance, corporate secretarial, or regulatory roles, with meaningful exposure to a multinational or SaaS/tech environment
• Strong working knowledge of corporate governance, exchange control, and compliance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions (India experience a plus)
• Experience liaising directly with regulators, statutory auditors, and external counsel across countries
• Prior experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment; supervisory or mentoring experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills — this role requires translating complex regulatory requirements into clear guidance for global finance and business leadership
