About the role
As an Operations Engineer on the Netskope NewEdge Government (NNG) team, you'll be the go-to person for keeping everything running smoothly. You'll handle planned maintenance and troubleshoot application or infrastructure issues in our government-accredited environments. Your main goal? Make sure we stick to high standards and maximize uptime for our customers. You'll work closely with team members across different fields to plan, schedule, carry out, and check production changes. If you have great attention to detail and love taking ambiguous problems and turning them into clear, smooth processes, you'll fit right in!
What you will be doing
- Troubleshooting Linux-based infrastructure or applications issues, escalating when necessary.
- Managing tickets by logging issues and assigning them based on priority and severity.
- Planning, executing, and communicating system and network maintenances.
- Engaging and coordinating with internal service owning teams to identify root causes.
- Estimating effort for your tasks and helping with prioritization and release planning.
- Keeping an eye out for active defects and communicating them early to maintain uptime and performance.
- Join the on-call rotation to help resolve application issues outside of standard business hours.
Required skills and experience
- US citizenship and physical residence in the US (required by federal government guidelines).
- At least 3 years of hands-on Linux system administration experience.
- At least 3 years of network administration experience.
- Scripting skills in Shell, Python, or similar languages are a big plus.
- Solid grasp of basic switching, routing, load balancing, and running operating systems or services at scale.
- A proven track record of juggling multiple tasks effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong familiarity with Linux/Unix platform administration.
- Bonus points if you hold an active US Secret clearance or are willing and able to obtain one.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent real-world experience.
Compensation:
At Netskope, salary is one component of our competitive total rewards package. The salary range for this position is as listed below. This is a national range. For purposes of complying with applicable laws, the range applies to candidates in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Washington, and other states.
The successful candidate’s starting pay will also be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and market conditions.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the On Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target commission amount at 100% goal achievement.
In addition to salary, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus plan (for non-sales roles) and a stock award program. Candidates may also be eligible for a comprehensive health plan and other benefits that can be reviewed at Netskope Benefits site.
