Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Product Engineer – Order to Cash to provide senior technical leadership across our Billing and Order-to-Cash landscape.

This is a hands-on Principal Individual Contributor role requiring deep expertise in Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB) and strong experience architecting complex enterprise billing solutions. The role will shape technical direction across multiple squads and products, solve complex engineering and integration challenges, and coach engineers to raise technical capability across the organisation.

The successful candidate will combine deep Order-to-Cash domain knowledge, ORMB expertise and strong software engineering capability, with the ability to work across architecture, detailed design and hands-on problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the technical architecture and engineering direction for Billing and Order-to-Cash capabilities.
  • Act as a senior technical authority for ORMB, covering architecture, configuration, extensibility, data models, integrations, batch processing and performance.
  • Architect end-to-end solutions spanning customer/account management, pricing, rating, billing, invoicing, receivables, collections and payments.
  • Design solutions across a complex enterprise ecosystem including ORMB, Oracle Fusion, CPQ, CRM, Product Master, tax platforms, integration services and enterprise data platforms.
  • Lead resolution of complex cross-product, cross-squad and integration dependencies, particularly where issues span multiple systems or ownership boundaries.
  • Remain hands-on and support teams in diagnosing and resolving difficult technical, data, performance and production issues.
  • Define reusable engineering and integration patterns that improve scalability, resilience, observability and maintainability.
  • Provide technical coaching, design reviews and hands-on guidance to engineers, raising engineering standards and building internal capability.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Platform and Engineering teams to translate business outcomes into pragmatic, scalable technical solutions.
  • Ensure technical solutions meet appropriate standards for security, resilience, performance, auditability, reconciliation and operational readiness.

Experience & Skills

  • Significant experience designing and engineering large-scale Billing and Order-to-Cash solutions.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB).
  • Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash processes including pricing, usage/rating, billing, invoicing, receivables, collections, payments, adjustments and rebilling.
  • Strong software engineering background, ideally including Java, Groovy, SQL and API development.
  • Strong experience with application data modelling, REST APIs, event-driven integration and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience integrating billing platforms with systems such as Oracle Fusion, CRM, CPQ, tax engines and enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of scalability, performance, resilience, security, observability and recoverability for business-critical financial systems.
  • Proven ability to solve complex end-to-end technical problems and influence architecture across multiple engineering teams.
  • Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to raise capability through hands-on coaching rather than formal authority.
  • Able to communicate complex technical decisions clearly to engineering, product and senior business stakeholders.
