The Process Assistant will support the Area Manager, and will hold responsibilities specific to your process path.
Key job responsibilities
- Support and work across departments as required
- Support daily management of department duties, including allocating labour, leading meetings, and assigning job duties
- Provide coverage for Area Managers
- Maintain a safe workplace by following safety standard operating procedures, ensuring the well-being of all personnel and the integrity of Amazon operations
- Measure and monitor workflows, track onsite performance, and provide important shift information to front-line management to ensure operational excellence across shifts
- Support and train associates to deliver great service and supervise them in their daily tasks
- Support the Area Manager with projects to improve processes, cultivate a safe working environment, and increase workforce engagement
- Provide policy follow-up and attendance tracking (duties do not extend to discipline)
- Track and report attendance and labour hours
- Assist the floor as an associate resource, training associates and verifying standard operating procedure compliance
Basic qualifications
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Availability to work 38 hours+/week, and overtime as required
- Previous experience leading teams
- Experience within a distribution center, logistics, or manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to coach, train and assist team members
- Experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Preferred qualifications
- Leadership experience directly managing others
- Comfortable in lifting up to 16 kilos, stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation
- Experience with performance metrics and lean process improvement
