We are searching for the best talent for an Project Manager, VELYS Digital Surgery - Thought Leader Liaison to join our Orthopaedics team located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Raynham, MA or West Chester, PA.
Purpose:
The Project Manager, VELYS Digital Surgery - Thought Leader Liaison will be responsible for the Project Management and Coordination and execution of non-R&D led customer engagement event planning and execution (e.g. AdBoard, Innovation Workshops, VoC Events). This person will manage HCP Contracts, Time Sheets, Services, Logistics, event documentation & minutes for key events, partnering with the “JR & Digital Customer Experience Team” and “JIC Customer Liaison Team” Leads to ensure a coordinated approached to surgeon engagement & management with the DS Alliance and JIC Surgeon Groups respectively.
This role will be fundamental in supporting the provision of strategic insights gained from key customers, identifying thought leaders in the therapeutic space, leading thought leader engagements, while coordinating all company contact with thought leaders including development, marketing, professional education, Health Economic & Market Access, Clinical, and other functions.
This individual will partner with global cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment, execution, and governance of innovation initiatives spanning Power Tools, Navigation, Robotics, Data & Digital Capabilities, and Advanced Technologies across multiple orthopaedic specialties including Knees, Hips, Shoulders, Spine, Trauma, and Sports Medicine.
The Project Manager will collaborate closely with VELYS Digital Surgery Upstream Leadership Team, R&D Project Managers, the Joint Reconstruction Senior Project Manager and Thought Leader Liaison Lead, to support the development, prioritization, execution, and commercialization of the VELYS Digital Surgery portfolio.
The Project Manager, VELYS Digital Surgery - Thought Leader Liaison will report to the Global Head of Robotics, Digital Surgery.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordination and execution of commercial advisory board meetings, Innovation Workshops & VoC calendar of engagements and content for the DePuy Synthes Digital Surgery organization as well as other engagement opportunities.
- Partner with the JR & Digital Customer Experience Team and JIC Customer Liaison Team Leads in the development and execution of thought leader engagement strategy.
- Collaborates closely with several functional areas within the organization including marketing, clinical affairs, medical affairs, regulatory, R&D and other corporate functions in support of DePuy Synthes. strategic plans and business objectives.
- Partners with GSM, US Marketing, International Marketing, Professional and Commercial Education and New Technology Managers to facilitate the external evaluation and launch of new technologies, product development, clinical and education strategy and marketing messaging.
- Identifies, cultivates, and maintains professional relationships with physicians, and medical associations and defines appropriate engagement activities
- Works cross functionally to drive and develop aligned external engagement strategies across multiple stakeholder groups
- Provides leadership and insights to DePuy Synthes leadership team for relevant activities and thought leader engagements.
- This role may require 25-40% travel.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant business experience is required.
- Experience successfully leading complex cross-functional projects or programs is required.
- Ability to influence without authority and work with cross-functional teams in the development and delivery of strategic business priorities is required.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with critical internal and external stakeholders is required.
- Experience working with product development, upstream marketing, innovation management, portfolio management, or project management is preferred.
- Track record of driving strategic change and organizational alignment to meet evolving business needs is required.
- Understanding of medical device development, commercialization processes, and healthcare markets is preferred.
- Strong project management, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills are required.
- Experience supporting capital equipment, robotics, navigation, software, digital health, or enabling technologies is preferred.
- Experience successfully operating in a matrix environment is required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands while maintaining a high level of execution excellence is required.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$102,000.00 - $177,100.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
