Job Description Summary:
The Coca-Cola Company is building a modern product organization for a business that operates at extraordinary scale. Our ambition is not simply to digitize existing work. We are building the products, platforms, and intelligent capabilities that will shape how Coca-Cola serves customers, accelerates growth, and operates in the future.
That means designing products that help customers do business with us more seamlessly, give sales and service teams better insight and decision support, and connect the workflows and data behind a complex operating system. The work spans customer experience, service enablement, sales experience, operations, and growth—with opportunities to build entirely new capabilities in areas like personalization, automation, AI-assisted workflows, and decision intelligence.
The role is a senior design leader in our North America UX practice, reporting into the Head of Product Design & Research. This is a hybrid role: you will lead and grow a team of designers while staying moderately hands-on in the work—a player-coach who models the craft they expect from others. Where Staff Designers drive strategy and craft across multiple product areas, the role operates at the Pillar level: co-owning the end-to-end experience vision with the Head of Design, setting design direction that spans the ecosystem, and serving as the standard-bearer for what great looks like across every team.
You will work in close partnership with the Head of Product Design & Research, Staff Designers, and UX Research to deliver best-in-class experiences for a wide range of internal users—the sales, service, finance, and revenue operations teams who run the business every day—as well as the customer-facing experiences through which the world does business with Coca-Cola.
Scope and Impact
• Portfolio-level experience direction across our digital product ecosystem—ensuring customers, sales and service teams, and operational users experience one coherent whole rather than a collection of tools
• Digital enterprise and consumer experiences across Coca-Cola’s global brand portfolio
• Sales, service, and operational tools used by the teams who run the business day to day
• A growing team of product designers whom you will participate in hiring, leading, and developing
• The design system and experience architecture that give our products coherence at scale, in partnership with the Head of Design
• AI-enabled and intelligent product experiences, as personalization, automation, decision support, and agentic capabilities are integrated across our platform
• The design practice itself: in partnership with the Head of Design, define and refine how we work, how we grow designers, and how design earns influence across the organization
Responsibilities
Co-Own the Experience Vision
• Partner with the Head of Product Design & Research to define and evolve the end-to-end experience vision for the portfolio
• Translate that vision into portfolio-level design direction, frameworks, and principles that empowered product teams can execute against
• Champion simplicity, coherence, and usability across the portfolio, reducing fragmentation across journeys, tools, and workflows
• Translate complex, interconnected workflows into simple, human-centered experiences that create measurable customer and business value
Lead and Grow the Team
• Hire, manage, and develop a team of product designers, building a bench of talent as the practice scales
• Set clear expectations, give direct and generous feedback, and own performance, growth, and career development for your team
• Create the conditions for great work: clarity of direction, healthy team dynamics, and a culture of critique, curiosity, and craft excellence
• Balance leading through others with leading by doing—knowing when to coach, when to pair, and when to pick up the work yourself
Lead the Most Consequential Design Work
• Personally lead design on the most complex, ambiguous, and high-stakes initiatives in the portfolio—the work that defines what great looks like
• Direct and align design work across product areas and initiative teams, ensuring coherence and quality across many user types
• Model exceptional craft and hold the quality bar for every experience the practice ships
• Introduce and champion new design approaches, tools, and methodologies—including AI-assisted design—that help teams move faster without sacrificing rigor
Shape Strategy at the Executive Level
• Co-create product strategy with senior Product and Engineering leaders, shaping vision and roadmap from the start, not after the fact
• Represent design in executive forums, crafting narratives that land with senior leadership and move stakeholders to alignment
• Partner with UX Research to make insight a continuous, trusted input into strategy, prioritization, and investment—advocating for outcomes, not just artifacts
• Anticipate and break down organizational and technical resistance, navigating ambiguity with confidence and earning trust through sound judgment
Design for a Connected Ecosystem
• Design across digital, operational, and support touchpoints, spanning customer-facing experiences and internal tooling
• Bring systems thinking to how data, workflows, and decisions connect across products and platforms
• Define cross-product frameworks and shared patterns for multi-role, multi-touchpoint experiences
Build the Practice
• Partner with the Head of Design to establish governance around design systems, accessibility, and experience standards
• Co-define the rituals, frameworks, and ways of working that make the practice effective and scalable—and help it mature as it grows
• Identify gaps in practice maturity and proactively close them, building the systems and infrastructure that allow other designers to do their best work
• Mentor Staff and senior designers on craft, strategy, and influence; lead critique and review processes that raise the quality of the team’s work and develop design judgment across the organization
What We Are Looking For
Required
• 10+ years of product design or UX experience, with 4+ years in design leadership roles—including experience directly managing and developing designers, often operating at various altitudes of design fidelity.
• A portfolio demonstrating portfolio- or organization-level design leadership: experience vision, strategic influence, and shipped products with measurable business and user outcomes
• Proven ability to design for multi-role, multi-touchpoint, ecosystem products spanning several user types and contexts, across both customer-facing and internal tooling experiences
• A track record of co-owning product strategy with senior Product and Engineering leaders and shaping direction at the executive level
• Experience building or significantly evolving a design system and its governance practices, including how embedded AI components work within and across platforms
• Exceptional storytelling, facilitation, and communication skills: you tailor your message to any audience and consistently earn alignment from the most senior stakeholders
• Demonstrated success hiring, mentoring, and developing designers—including senior and staff-level talent—and lifting the capability of a practice, not just delivering great work yourself
• Deep fluency in user-centered design, accessibility standards, and interaction design across web and mobile platforms
• Experience leading user research or partnering closely with dedicated researchers, and making insight a trusted input to strategy
• Proficiency in Figma, Claude Code, Claude Design, and other modern (AI) prototyping tools, with clear examples of how AI is incorporated into your workflows, how you evaluate AI capabilities, and how your inputs and outcomes have improved in the last 18 months
Preferred
• Background in complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software, CPG, retail, or ecommerce spanning multiple user roles, geographies, and touchpoints
• Experience designing for or alongside AI-enabled and intelligent systems, including agentic, generative, or decision-intelligence experiences
• Experience operating across both consumer-facing and internal tooling product contexts
• Experience helping stand up or scale a design practice in a large, complex organization
Leadership Attributes
Experience vision and clarity - defines how experiences should work and feel across a complex portfolio, brings coherence to the ecosystem, and helps teams understand what great looks like.
Player-coach leadership - leads and grows a team of designers while modeling exceptional craft personally—knowing when to direct, when to develop, and when to get your hands dirty.
Influence and cross-functional trust - shapes strategy and decisions at more senior levels through insight, narrative, and thoughtful critique—earning trust across Product, Engineering, Research, and business teams.
Systems thinking and design quality - sees the connections across tools, workflows, data, and teams, and designs for one simple, unified, scalable ecosystem while holding a high bar for craft and usability.
Multiplier of talent - grows the judgment and capability of designers around them, making the whole practice better than the sum of its parts.
