AI in this role
About Nscale
Nscale is the global hyperscaler engineered for AI infrastructure. Through vertically integrated AI solutions and modular, first-principles data center design across Europe, North America, and beyond, Nscale delivers the compute foundation for enterprise AI training, fine-tuning, and inference at scale.
We thrive on a culture of relentless innovation, ownership, and accountability, where every team member takes pride in their work and drives it with excellence and urgency. As an Nscaler, you'll build trust through openness and transparency, where everyone is inspired to do their best work. If you join our team, you'll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Internal Communications to lead communications for our Data Center Infrastructure organization, the team that designs, builds and operates Nscale's data centers.
Working in close partnership with the Data Center Infrastructure leadership team, you will develop a deep understanding of the organization's priorities, projects and major milestones. You will help leaders communicate clearly with a large, fast-growing and distributed workforce, and help the wider company understand what this organization is delivering.
You will sit within Nscale's internal communications team. Our team is small, senior and deliberately unstructured. You will own specific areas outright, contribute to areas your colleagues own, and support the company's needs as they evolve. The scope below is where we expect you to start, not where we expect you to stay. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role.
What You'll Do
Data Center Infrastructure Narrative
- Partner with leaders across Data Center Infrastructure to understand the organization's strategy, priorities and key milestones
- Develop a clear, consistent narrative for the organization and its role in Nscale's success
- Translate complex technical, construction and operational work into clear stories for a broad employee audience
- Identify the moments worth telling, and plan communications around them
Organization Communications
- Advise Data Center Infrastructure leaders on how they communicate with their organization, including through periods of change
- Develop communications that reach the organization's full workforce, including site-based and non-desk employees
- Support organization-wide moments such as all-hands meetings, site milestones and leadership updates
- Handle sensitive and high-stakes communications with sound judgment and discretion
Company-Wide Communications
- Share the progress of Data Center Infrastructure with the wider company through Nscale's channels and company programming
- Collaborate with adjacent teams, including AI Infrastructure, so that related milestones are communicated in a coordinated way
- Partner with Corporate Communications so that internal and external messaging on data center projects stays aligned
Measurement & Insight
- Track the impact of communications and use what you learn to improve
- Share insight from employees across the organization with business leaders
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in internal or employee communications, ideally within a technology, infrastructure or high-growth business
- Experience communicating for an organization with physical operations, such as data centers, energy, construction, manufacturing or telecommunications
- Experience reaching frontline, field or non-desk-based employees
- Technical fluency, with the ability to engage credibly with engineering and operations teams and explain complex work to a broad audience
- Experience partnering with senior business leaders and advising them on communications
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to make complex topics clear, engaging and relevant
- A practical, hands-on approach: comfortable building the plan and then doing the work yourself
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities at pace
- Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities and a scope that will change as we grow
Nice to have: experience in data centers, cloud or AI infrastructure; experience communicating across multiple countries and time zones.
