We are building intelligent automation that is transforming how security reviews happen at scale. Our team has developed an AI-powered agent that lets builders run security assessments directly from their development environment, generating threat models, architecture diagrams, code review findings, and remediation guidance in minutes rather than weeks. Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• You will be responsible for contributing to team by delivering code, helping set team's technical vision, architecture, and development practice
• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• You will be responsible for delivering key customer facing capabilities, delivering high-quality artifacts.
• You will be responsible for raising the bar for the team's culture and helping grow the talent on the team.
• You will work closely across product, customers and Security engineering to come up with new solutions for customers
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer, you might start your morning in a design session with product and security engineering partners, translating a broadly defined customer problem into a technical architecture for a new capability. After lunch, you could be heads-down writing code for a key customer-facing feature, building scalable solutions that raise the quality bar for the team. Later in the day, you might pair with a teammate on a code review, share a new agent you have been exploring, or help refine the team's development practices.

Basic qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Preferred qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniques

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
