AIS is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Software Development Engineer who is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying Supply Chain Software and Application. In this role you will collaborate with business leaders, work backwards from customers, identify problems, propose innovative solutions, relentlessly raise standards, and have a positive impact on AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain & Procurement. In this, you will work closely with a team of Data Engineers and Data Scientists to architect the application programming interface (API) and user Interface (UI) in context with the business outcomes. You will be responsible for the full software development life cycle to build scalable application and deploy in AWS Cloud with high security bar.
These are all greenfield projects offering a rare opportunity to build systems from the ground up. You will be part of a Supply Chain Automation team within AWS building large scale distributed applications, designing and developing systems from scratch utilizing technologies and frameworks like reactive micro services, serverless computing and distributed NoSQL data stores.

Key job responsibilities
• Solve complex architecture and business problems to come up with extensible solutions.
• Work with business leaders, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to ideate business-friendly software solutions.
• Design client-side and server-side architecture for Supply Chain applications.
• Write high quality code that is modular, functional and testable.
• Develop functional databases, applications, and servers to support Supply Chain platforms.
• Write effective APIs and develop technical specifications and documentation.
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency; troubleshoot, debug and upgrade applications.
• Create security and data protection settings for cloud-deployed applications.
• Formally mentor junior engineers on design, coding and troubleshooting.
• Communicate, collaborate and work effectively in a global environment.

Basic qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 6+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred qualifications

- 8+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
- 4+ years of supply chain management within a procurement organization experience
