Job Description & Summary

Join PwC’s Advanced Technology Solutions team as a Software Engineer (m/f) within our Data Services & Products organization, where you will help build and evolve platform and application capabilities around Microsoft Fabric. This role is ideal for engineers who are strong in software development, open to new technologies, and excited by the idea of contributing across engineering, platform work, automation, and solution design in a dynamic consulting environment.

We are looking for candidates with solid experience in .NET / C# and Python, a problem-solving mindset, and the flexibility to contribute wherever the project needs the most value. This is not a narrow role focused only on assigned tickets. It suits engineers who enjoy ownership, like shaping solutions, and are comfortable working in a mission-based delivery model where requirements are tied to clear business goals and may evolve as the work progresses.

At PwC, AI proficiency is a core capability for modern developers, helping deliver faster, higher-quality, and more innovative solutions. We use AI across software development, data engineering, cloud, automation, and analytics, with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, and our own ChatPwC. Through collaborations with leaders like Microsoft and OpenAI, we bring state-of-the-art AI into everyday work. We expect candidates to actively use AI tools to boost productivity, improve problem-solving, and deliver scalable, high-impact solutions responsibly.

The Role:

Our Microsoft Fabric team is evolving toward a mission delivery model, where engineers are expected to contribute beyond a single narrow responsibility area. In this setup, teams work on groups of requirements tied to specific business goals, explore ideas through spikes, and help shape practical solutions together with stakeholders.

The work spans software engineering, platform engineering, automation, portal development, architecture support, and operational improvement. While this posting is centered on a strong mid-level engineer profile, we are also open to candidates who bring broader lead potential, platform thinking, or an aspiring architect mindset and want to grow further in that direction.

What you will do:

  • Build and enhance software and platform capabilities around the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem
  • Develop primarily in .NET / C# and Python
  • Contribute to platform, application, automation, and integration work depending on mission priorities
  • Support portal development and related engineering tasks for internal and business-facing use cases
  • Work in a mission-based delivery model focused on business outcomes, not only predefined tasks
  • Participate in spikes, experimentation, and solution shaping as part of evolving platform strategy
  • Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and data-focused teams to turn ideas into practical solutions
  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, Copilot, or similar to improve engineering productivity and solution quality
  • Contribute across multiple areas where needed, including design thinking, architecture support, and operational improvement

What we are looking for:

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Good experience with .NET / C#
  • Good experience with Python
  • Interest in platform engineering, automation, integration development, and modern engineering practices
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn new technologies quickly
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to think beyond assigned tasks
  • Interest in AI-assisted development and openness to tools such as Cursor and Claude
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment where priorities and responsibilities may evolve
  • Good communication skills and comfort working with different stakeholders
  • Good written and spoken English

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience with Fabric applications or related platform capabilities
  • Exposure to architecture, solution design, or broader platform thinking
  • Experience with portal development
  • Interest in growing toward a lead engineer or architect path
  • Generalist mindset and willingness to contribute across multiple engineering areas

Why this role:

This is a strong opportunity for engineers who want more than a standard development role. You will have the chance to work across different areas of engineering, contribute to platform direction, and grow based on your strengths and ambitions. For the right person, this role can be a strong fit whether you are a solid mid-level engineer today, a lead-level developer who enjoys broader ownership, or someone with aspiring architect potential who wants to keep expanding into design and platform thinking.

Questions you could be asked

  1. What's a project where you used OpenAI hands-on?
  2. Walk me through how you've used Claude in your day-to-day work.
  3. What are the limits of Copilot that you've run into, and how did you work around them?

  5. Walk me through how you've used Claude Code in your day-to-day work.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: OpenAI, Claude, Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list — this role treats it as a required part of the job.
