Key Responsibilities

Design and implement complex service features, focusing on high performance, scalability, consistency, and strict reliability within distributed systems.
Optimize database operations at scale, developing robust patterns for data integrity, consistency, and efficient data manipulation across distributed datasets.
Implement solutions for complex scalability problems.
Build and scale database services on AWS, GCP, or other public cloud platforms.
Participate in the team's on-call rotation to address complex issues in real time and keep services operational and highly available.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in demanding production environments, ensuring rapid recovery, minimal disruption, and sustained high availability.

Required Qualifications

BS or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems architecture.
5+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on large-scale, database-intensive, and highly distributed applications.
Experience with Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platforms and a deep understanding of their underlying distributed architecture.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Java or C++.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with PostgreSQL software development or open-source community contributions is a strong plus.

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions.

The typical base salary range for this position is $148,500 - $223,900 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $178,900 - $246,000 annually.

The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
