Are you a technical leader who thrives on solving complex architectural challenges while building and growing high-performing teams? Amazon is looking for a Solutions Architect Manager to lead a team of solutions architects who design and deliver scalable, reliable systems that directly impact how our customers experience our products and services. In this role, you will define the strategic direction for your team, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and drive architectural decisions that balance performance, cost, security, and operational excellence. You will navigate ambiguity, set clear goals, and establish the metrics that measure success — all while developing the next generation of technical talent on your team.

Key job responsibilities
- Define and communicate team vision, goals, and long-term strategy by working backwards from customer problems, partnering with stakeholders across engineering, product, and business teams to align on priorities and architectural direction.
- Lead architectural reviews and drive system design decisions, evaluating tradeoffs across reliability, security, performance, and cost while ensuring solutions are scalable and maintainable over time.
- Build, grow, and manage an inclusive team of solutions architects, providing coaching, career development, and actionable feedback that empowers each team member to deliver results and advance their professional growth.
- Establish workflows, service level agreements, and audit mechanisms that ensure operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, and measurable quality across your team's deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes and reduce complexity, leveraging generative artificial intelligence tools and reusable patterns to improve team productivity and accelerate solution delivery.

A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing an architecture proposal from a team member, asking targeted questions that sharpen the design before a stakeholder review. After a quick sync with partner engineering teams to align on integration timelines, you shift into a one-on-one with a direct report to discuss their development goals and an upcoming stretch project. Later, you prepare a narrative for leadership that outlines your team's progress against quarterly objectives and flags emerging risks. Throughout, you balance hands-on technical guidance with the strategic thinking needed to keep your team moving in the right direction.

About the team
Our team is focused on designing solutions that help Travel & Logistics customers in India build and scale systems that they can rely on every day. We work closely with engineering, product, and business partners to turn complex requirements into clear, actionable architectures. Basic qualifications

- 10+ years of architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc. experience
- 2+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- 8+ years of technology solutions development and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals, ideally in customer facing roles

Preferred qualifications

- Experience in cloud architecture and CXO level engagement
