Common questions

What does an AI tool count on this page mean?

It is the number of open jobs on Level whose posting names the tool, for example Claude or LangChain. A job naming several tools counts once for each. A mention shows what the employer wrote, not that the job is about the tool.

How often are the counts updated?

Once a day. The first update cycle of each day (UTC) takes the count and keeps it. Past days are never rewritten, and nothing before the first count is estimated.

Can I use the chart on my own site?

Yes. Copy the iframe code or the image code from the Embed this chart block on this page. The chart shows the date of the count and a link back to Level. The figures are also free to reuse under CC BY 4.0, as CSV and JSON files, with a link to this page as the source.

How it is counted

  • Jobs counted: every job open on Level on the day of the count, the same set as each tool page. A job counts for a tool when its posting names the tool, matched on whole words against a fixed list of names.
  • A job that names several tools counts once for each of them. A tool named only because the employer makes it, such as ChatGPT in a job at OpenAI, is left out.
  • Frequency: one count per day (UTC), taken by the first update cycle of the day and never changed afterwards. Nothing before the first count is estimated or rebuilt.
  • A mention is not a requirement. The count says a posting names the tool, not that the job is about it.
