As of October 29, 2026, Level lists 460 live Gemini AI jobs. Each names Gemini as a tool and uses AI in the work itself. Google announced Gemini 4 Carbon on October 28. Of these, 185 work on AI and 120 build it.

What happened

On October 28, 2026, Google announced Gemini 4 Carbon, which it calls its strongest model. The post says Carbon ranks first on version 5.0 of the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, at 59.

Google puts the focus on coding, long agentic tasks and cybersecurity. It reports 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro, a test for finding software vulnerabilities.

Access is limited for now. Google says Carbon goes first to a subset of cyber defenders, then to trusted partners through its Fairwind Program.

The post says developers, businesses and consumers will get it later. The introductory price is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.

Carbon follows Gemini 4 Argon, which Google says launched two weeks ago. For job seekers, the question is simple: who already asks for Gemini skills?

Which companies ask for Gemini skills?

Level reads the tools named in each posting. As of October 29, 2026, 460 live postings at the Uses AI level or above name Gemini.

Airbus leads with 32 postings. Salesforce has 25, Nextdoor has 15 and PwC has 14.

Capital One follows with 11 postings. See the pages for Airbus, Salesforce and PwC.

In a sample of Airbus postings, Gemini appears next to Google Workspace as a productivity tool.

The crypto exchange named Gemini also hires. Level does not tag those postings with the Gemini tool, so they are not in these counts.

Do Gemini jobs mean building AI or using it?

Both. Level sorts each posting into four levels, from Little AI to Builds AI. Two thirds of these roles work on AI or build it.

As of October 29, 2026, 155 of the 460 postings are Uses AI, which is 34%. In these roles, Gemini is a daily tool, like a spreadsheet or a search engine.

185 postings are Works on AI, which is 40%. These roles work on AI products or features.

120 postings are Builds AI, which is 26%. PwC has 10 of them, and Wolters Kluwer has 9.

See Builds AI roles and Works on AI roles for the full lists. The levels page explains each step.

Is Gemini the only model you need to know?

No. Employers rarely name Gemini alone.

Claude appears in 269 of the 460 postings, which is 58%. OpenAI appears in 136 of them, or 30%.

Vertex AI, Google's cloud platform for AI, appears in 53 postings. That is 12%.

The pattern is a mixed toolkit. A posting that names Gemini usually names a second model too.

If you prepare for these roles, practice the same task in two models. Then compare the results, cost and failure cases. Browse every posting that names the tool on the Gemini page and the Vertex AI page.

Where are Gemini jobs, and what do they pay?

As of October 29, 2026, 220 of the 460 postings are in the United States, which is 48%. 177 allow remote work, or 38%.

Senior roles lead the list. Level tags 219 postings as senior, which is 48%.

There is an entry point. 45 postings are internships, and Airbus offers 22 of them.

180 postings list a minimum and a maximum salary in US dollars. The median listed minimum is $143,000+.

The median listed maximum is $204,000+. These are posted ranges, not offers.

Method

  • Source: the Level database, read through the public jobs API with the query "gemini" and a minimum level of Uses AI. Retrieved October 29, 2026 at 08:48 UTC.
  • Scope: 460 live postings tagged with the Gemini tool. Seven postings from the crypto exchange Gemini matched the text but carry no Gemini tool tag, so they are excluded.
  • Filter: pay figures use the 180 postings with a minimum and a maximum salary in USD. With an even count, the median is the midpoint of the two middle values.
  • Levels: Little AI (L1), Uses AI (L2), Works on AI (L3) and Builds AI (L4). Definitions are on the levels page.
  • Limits: counts change daily. A tool tag means the posting names Gemini, not that it is the main tool. Google figures come from its own announcement.
