What happened
Mistral announced Mistral Large 4 on October 6, 2026. It is a natively multimodal model with 1 trillion parameters, of which 52 billion are active.
The preview API is open on Mistral Studio. The company says it will release the weights by the end of October.
Mistral also says it trained the model on 3,800 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs in its own datacenters in Europe. The post highlights cybersecurity, coding and agentic workflows.
On the coding side, Mistral reports 61.7% on DeepSWE v1.1. On security, it reports that the model solves 93% of the challenges in Cybench, a set of 40 exercises drawn from security competitions. These are the company's own published figures.
The post adds that the model uses the same training, customization and reinforcement learning environment that Mistral sells to customers through Mistral Forge. Forge is also the product behind the Research Engineer, Forge listing.
What kinds of roles is Mistral AI hiring for?

Does the Mistral Large 4 launch change who gets hired?
Level cannot prove that one launch creates openings. What the data shows is that 6 cybersecurity titles are already on the board.
Six Mistral AI titles contain "cybersecurity". They include a forward deployed engineer for Europe, one for Canada, and a research engineer working on reinforcement learning environments for cybersecurity.
Mistral's post says cybersecurity leaders, vetted partners and state authorities will test the model before the weights are released. Mistral AI also lists 6 cybersecurity titles and 2 evaluation titles, and one of the cybersecurity titles sits at Little AI.
The board also shows an Evaluation Engineer role and an Eval Platform research engineer role at Mistral AI. Both sit at Builds AI.
Which other employers mention Mistral?
The other 69 listings come from 33 employers. Sopra Steria has 8, Amazon has 6, Buildkite has 5, and NVIDIA and Cloudera have 4 each.
