What you'll be doing  

The General Accountant will support day-to-day general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, general ledger accounts, and financial reports. The role involves preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, supporting month-end closing activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and accounting records, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and classified.

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, provisions, prepayments, and other routine accounting adjustments.

• Perform regular account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure outstanding items are resolved in a timely manner.

• Support Accounts Payable activities, including reviewing supplier invoices, reconciling supplier statements, monitoring outstanding balances, and ensuring accurate transaction recording.

• Manage and reconcile prepaid expenses and other balance sheet accounts, ensuring appropriate allocation and reporting.

• Participate in month-end closing and book closure activities, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines.

• Assist in preparing financial reports, account schedules, and supporting documentation for financial statements.

• Perform basic financial analysis and investigate unusual account balances or discrepancies.

• Apply relevant accounting principles and IFRS standards to daily accounting activities.

• Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve accounting queries and obtain the necessary supporting documentation.

• Support internal and external audit requirements by maintaining complete, accurate, and organized accounting records.

• Use ERP systems to process accounting transactions, maintain financial data, and support efficient accounting operations.

What you’ll need to succeed  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of general accounting experience.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, the accounting cycle, journal entries, accruals, provisions, and prepayments.

• Practical experience in account reconciliations and month-end closing activities.

• Understanding of general ledger maintenance, balance sheet accounts, and financial reporting.

• Basic knowledge of financial statement preparation and financial analysis.

• Familiarity with IFRS standards and their application in accounting operations.

• Hands-on experience using ERP systems; SAP experience is a strong advantage.

• Good command of English, with the ability to understand business emails, prepare written correspondence, and communicate effectively.

• Strong analytical skills, numerical accuracy, and attention to detail.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with different internal teams.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities and meet month-end deadlines.
