EGA is an integrated aluminium producer, with operations on four continents from bauxite mining to the production of cast primary aluminium and recycling. EGA operates aluminium smelters in Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah in the United Arab Emirates, an alumina refinery in Al Taweelah, a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea, a speciality foundry in high strength recycled aluminium in Germany, and a recycling plant in the United States.
JOB PURPOSE:
To administer and handle shipment and transport operations in order to fulfil the Company’s obligations to its customers as per the terms and conditions agreed, in line with approved policies, procedures and standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Day-to-Day Operation
- Allocates operations among the appropriate vessel / transporter companies and inputs the schedule into the system
- Coordinates with Production Scheduling, CFS and the Shipping/Transporter company to ensure shipments meet the agreed schedule
- Communicates with Shipping Lines / Transporters / Freight forwarders both verbally and in writing regarding status of shipment/delivery as and when necessary
- Keeps track of shipments and deliveries until completed and confirms delivery into the system
- Completes the required administrative duties and tasks associated with the above accountabilities to fulfil the objectives
- Monitors tasks and work progress thoroughly and escalates issues to the line manager/supervisor to resolve and to prevent any potential problems

- Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
Minimum Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience in Export Shipping and Logistics
Skills:
- Computer proficiency such as Microsoft Office, Email, Internet
- Good verbal and written communication Skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Attention to details
- Organising skills
- Teamwork skills
