AI in this role
Today, NVIDIA is tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in an inclusive, encouraging environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how we can make a lasting impact on the world.
What you’ll be doing:
Identify bottlenecks in software development workflows, form testable hypotheses, and rapidly build prototypes that demonstrate measurable improvements in developer efficiency.
Design and implement AI-agent capabilities for tasks such as code generation, debugging, testing, knowledge retrieval, workflow automation, and long-running development tasks.
Collaborate with software engineers, AI researchers, and infrastructure teams to integrate agent-based solutions into real NVIDIA development environments.
Evaluate agent systems through reproducible experiments, analyzing reliability, accuracy, latency, resource usage, and the quality of generated code.
Turn successful experiments into robust, maintainable Python software that can support broader engineering teams across NVIDIA.
What we need to see:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Strong programming and software engineering skills, with particular proficiency in Python and the ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
Solid understanding of core computer science topics, especially operating systems, computer networks, storage systems, concurrency, and distributed systems.
Strong self-motivation and problem-solving ability, including a demonstrated capacity to discover meaningful problems, work independently, and validate ideas through rapid experimentation.
Good written and spoken English skills, with the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate in an international engineering environment.
Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar coding agents.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience building AI agents, coding assistants, autonomous development workflows, or other tools that improve developer productivity.
Familiarity with agent frameworks and open-source projects such as Hermes, DeepSeek Harness, memory systems, or comparable agent runtimes and orchestration frameworks.
Experience evaluating large language model applications, including prompt design, tool use, context management, memory, benchmarking, and reliability testing.
Contributions to open-source projects, technically ambitious personal projects, or examples of independently identifying and solving real developer problems.

Skills and AI tools this role asks for
Questions you could be asked
- How do you structure and test a prompt to get consistent output from a language model?
- How do you decide when an AI agent can act on its own versus asking for approval first?
- What are the limits of Claude that you've run into, and how did you work around them?
- What's a project where you used Deepseek hands-on?
- Walk me through how you've used Cursor in your day-to-day work.
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: Prompt engineering, AI agents, Claude, Deepseek, and Cursor. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Lead with what you built, trained or shipped. This role is judged on the AI system itself, not the tools around it.
