As an AI Clinical Solutions Engineer within the Azurion Eye program, you connect clinical practice with AI-driven imaging innovation. In this hospital-based project opportunity, you will partner directly with clinicians, product teams, and AI engineers to identify high-value opportunities, validate solutions in real-world settings, and translate clinical insights into product improvements that enhance workflows, decision-making, and patient care.

What is the Azurion Eye program? It advances Philips’ strategy to embed AI into clinical workflows by combining clinical intelligence, computer vision, predictive analytics, and AI-powered orchestration. The platform helps clinicians make faster, better-informed decisions, improve procedural efficiency through intuitive tableside control, and enhance patient safety with precision imaging and reduced radiation exposure, including in-room 3D CT-like imaging for stroke care.

Embedded within a strategic US clinical partner hospital, you will help accelerate Philips’ AI-powered Cath Lab platform. Working alongside interventional cardiologists, radiologists, and hospital stakeholders, you will identify clinical needs, validate AI workflows, gather real-world evidence, and serve as the R&D organization’s “eyes and ears” in a leading catheterization laboratory.

Your role:

• Identify clinical challenges and translate them into AI-enabled product opportunities and requirements, while you deploy and evaluate AI capabilities in clinical environments, gathering structured feedback on usability, performance, and workflow fit. Also, validate AI outputs, identify edge cases and failure modes, and support continuous model improvement. 

• Work closely with Product Management and R&D teams to accelerate learning cycles and prioritize product enhancements. In addition, build strong partnerships with physicians and hospital stakeholders to drive co-creation and adoption of AI solutions, as you support clinical evaluations, evidence generation, and AI performance validation activities.

• Support prototype deployments, software validation, and integration into hospital IT environments. In addition, you will represent customer needs across multidisciplinary teams including AI, Clinical Science, Engineering, UX, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs.

You are the right fit if:

• You’ve acquired 7+ years’ experience developing software-based healthcare or medical technology solutions in combination with a Master’s degree or PhD.

• Your skills include experience with AI-enabled healthcare products and direct clinician collaboration; knowledge of image-guided therapy, interventional cardiology, or related clinical domains; experience developing regulated products under FDA Design Controls in SaMD/SaNMD environments; as well as the ability to translate clinical observations into product requirements and engineering priorities.

• You have a Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Econometrics, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent.

• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

• You’re an excellent communicator who works effectively across matrixed organizations, comfortable partnering closely with key stakeholders, product teams and AI Engineers.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details  

The pay range for this position in North Carolina or Tennessee is $140,000 to $223,000. 

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.  For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Asheville, North Carolina or Nashville, Tennessee.
