AI & Innovation Senior Manager
AI in this role
GSK remains committed to achieving bold commercial ambitions for the future. By 2031, we aim to deliver £40 billion in annual sales, leveraging our existing strong performance momentum to significantly increase our positive impact on the health of billions of patients globally. Our Ahead Together strategy is centered on early intervention to prevent and alter the course of disease, thereby protecting people and supporting healthcare systems.
Our diverse portfolio consists of vaccines, specialty medicines, and general medicines. Through continuous innovation and a dedicated focus on scientific and technical excellence, we strive to develop and launch new, groundbreaking treatments that address critical health challenges.
The Risk Analytics and Monitoring (RAM) team supports GSK in establishing a proactive, data-driven compliance culture that aligns with the organisation's strategic priorities and values. Our team delivers actionable insights that enable Legal and Compliance teams to identify emerging risks, focus resources, and make better-informed decisions. Through advanced analytics and responsible application of artificial intelligence, we strengthen risk management, improve Compliance effectiveness, and help position Compliance as a strategic partner to the business.
Role Overview
We are seeking an AI product leader to shape and deliver a major portfolio of Compliance AI products in a highly regulated, global environment. The portfolio spans two areas:
- Generative AI products that transform complex risk and compliance data into clear, decision-ready insights through capabilities such as knowledge retrieval, summarisation, explanation, and decision support.
- Agentic AI products that support complex compliance activities through workflow orchestration, tool use, task execution, and appropriate human oversight.
You will take primary ownership of one of these portfolios, based on your expertise and the complementary strengths of the wider team. You will also help shape AI methodology, responsible AI practices, and the broader innovation roadmap across Compliance Risk Analytics.
This is an opportunity to apply emerging AI capabilities to complex, real-world compliance challenges at global scale. Success will require strong product leadership and technical credibility, combined with the ability to influence across business, technology, cultural, and geographic boundaries. You will lead through expertise, collaboration, and influence rather than formal authority.
In this role you will
· Own the end-to-end lifecycle of an AI product portfolio from problem definition through solution design, delivery, evaluation, validation, production launch, adoption, monitoring, and continuous improvement, executing against the established strategy and business priorities.
· Translate business and user needs into a focused product roadmap, prioritised backlog, clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes, balancing business value, risk, technical feasibility, dependencies, and delivery capacity.
· Establish robust AI methodology and alignment with GSK’s responsible AI framework, ensuring solutions are trustworthy, explainable, appropriately governed, and fit for purpose. This includes evaluation, validation, human oversight, guardrails, traceability, performance monitoring, and relevant grounding or orchestration approaches.
· Provide technical direction and quality oversight to internal teams and delivery partners, constructively challenging architecture and design decisions and reviewing evidence of testing, validation, security, scalability, and production readiness.
· Build trusted partnerships across Compliance, Legal, Risk Owners, Analytics, and Tech teams, aligning stakeholders around priorities and enabling secure, scalable, supportable products that integrate effectively with enterprise data and systems.
· Shape the AI innovation pipeline by identifying emerging capabilities, assessing their relevance to Compliance challenges, developing business cases, and converting successful experimentation into reusable and scalable solutions.
· Communicate complex technical choices, risks, and trade-offs clearly to senior business and technical stakeholders, enabling informed decisions and maintaining alignment across complex global initiatives.
· Strengthen organisational capability through coaching, knowledge sharing, reusable standards, and practical guidance that improves how AI products are designed, governed, delivered, and operated.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
· Significant experience owning and delivering enterprise AI, generative AI, agentic AI, or similarly complex digital products, including taking solutions beyond proof of concept into reliable operational use.
· Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas:
o Generative AI products, including retrieval, grounding, prompt and context design, evaluation, validation, and human review
o Agentic AI products, including orchestration, tool use, workflow execution, observability, guardrails, and human oversight.
· Strong product leadership experience across roadmaps, prioritisation, delivery governance, stakeholder adoption, and lifecycle management.
· Strong technical depth in modern AI development practices, including Python and enterprise AI architectures, with the credibility to challenge technical decisions and guide engineering teams without needing to act as the primary developer.
· Experience establishing evaluation, validation, monitoring, and responsible AI controls.
· Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional delivery and influence senior business and technical stakeholders in a global, matrixed organisation.
· Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts, risks, and trade-offs to different audiences and support effective decision-making.
· Advanced knowledge gained through a degree or equivalent professional experience in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, analytics, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Skills:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
· Experience in pharmaceuticals, financial services, healthcare, or another regulated domain.
· Experience with Microsoft Azure AI services, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, agent frameworks, model platforms, retrieval and search technologies, or comparable enterprise AI platforms.
· Experience delivering global AI products that require user validation, adoption, localisation, enterprise integration, and coordination across business and technical teams.

Skills and AI tools this role asks for
Questions you could be asked
- How do you think about the risk of an AI system in this kind of role failing silently?
- Walk me through how you've used Copilot in your day-to-day work.
- Describe a typical day in a role like this one: which parts run through AI directly?
- If you removed AI from this role, what would be left, and how do you decide what still needs a human?
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: AI Safety and Copilot. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project — this role expects it to be a running habit.
