Airport Services Duty Officer | Fixed-Term

As the Airport Services Duty Officer (Fixed-Term: 12 months contract), you will take overall control of the shift as the direct representative of the Airport Services Manager. You will monitor flight, staff and ground handling agent activities to support efficient and punctual operations. You will also help ensure that Qatar Airways operations meet required safety, security and service standards.

· Oversee day-to-day shift operations and act as the link between airport service providers and operational users.

· Monitor flight, passenger, aircraft and ground handling activities to support safe, secure and on-time performance.

· Manage shift manpower, delegate duties and maintain effective team utilisation, discipline and morale.

· Conduct operational and staff spot checks, brief Qatar Airways and ground handling teams, and maintain required standards.

· Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly, working with relevant departments to support effective service recovery.

· Provide operational recommendations to management and deputise as head of station when the Airport Services Manager is absent.

· Control petty cash expenditure in line with finance procedures and complete required operational checks and records.

· Prepare accurate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.

· Supervise, coach, develop and, where required, train employees to maintain service standards and succession readiness.

· Comply with applicable safety, security, quality, environmental, data protection and company requirements, including during disruptions or emergencies.

Qualification

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 3 years of job-related experience; or High School, Vocational Qualification or Diploma with at least 4 years of job-related experience.

· Advanced course in passenger handling.

· Supervisory-level experience with an airline or a reputable ground handling agent.

· Knowledge of weight and balance, ramp handling and Dangerous Goods Regulations.

· Good understanding of Qatar Airways Conditions of Carriage and relevant ICAO, IATA and local aviation safety and security procedures.

· Strong English communication, computer literacy, report writing, team leadership, coaching and delegation skills.

· Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively and maintain high customer service standards within tight deadlines.

· Current legal right to live and work in Algeria for the full duration of the 12-month fixed-term contract.

Preferred

· Previous Duty Officer or equivalent experience and demonstrated team leadership experience.

· Ability to speak multiple languages.

· Flexibility to undertake duty travel to outstations for temporary assignments.
