About Grover
Founded in 2015, Grover enables consumers and businesses across Europe to subscribe to tech devices and comprehensive technology solutions - from individual smartphones, laptops, and wearables to full corporate device setups. The company offers access to over 1,000 unique tech items on flexible and financially convenient terms. A pioneer of the circular economy, Grover refurbishes and recirculates devices to help eliminate e-waste.
To continue this incredible adventure, we are currently looking for a B2B Underwriter to join our talented Risk team, full-time (40 hours/week) and a minimum 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday) at our Berlin HQ.
Reporting to Credit Risk and Fraud Managers, you will be the person who decides which businesses we partner with and on what terms, from start-ups ordering their first laptops to established companies equipping entire teams. Working alongside our sales, product and data colleagues, you will help us say yes to more good customers, faster, while keeping our B2B portfolio healthy. Along the way, you will turn your day-to-day insights into smarter credit rules and automated checks, so your judgement scales well beyond the cases on your desk. It’s an opportunity to build B2B credit risk at a growing company, where your work shows up directly in how we grow across Europe.
🎯 What you will contribute:
- Credit decisions for business customers: review incoming B2B applications, dig into financials and bureau data, and decide on approvals, limits and terms.
- A clear decision trail: write concise, well-argued case notes that others can follow and learn from.
- Ongoing customer reviews: keep an eye on existing accounts, handle limit increases, and act quickly when a customer’s situation changes.
- Smarter credit rules: turn patterns you see in your cases into proposals for new rules, thresholds and data sources.
- Automation with product and engineering: help decide which checks can be automated, so manual review goes to the cases that really need it.
- Portfolio insights: track how your approved customers perform and share what’s working and what isn’t with the Risk team.
🤝 What you bring:
- Credit or underwriting experience: 2+ years assessing business customers at a bank, lender, leasing company or fintech.
- Strong financial analysis skills: you can read balance sheets, P&Ls and credit reports quickly and spot what matters.
- Sound, confident judgement: you make clear decisions under time pressure and explain your reasoning simply, in writing and in conversation.
- A data-driven, hands-on mindset: you’re comfortable in Excel or Google Sheets (SQL is a plus) and enjoy turning insights into better processes.
- Collaborative communication: you build good relationships with sales, product and engineering, and you can say no in a way that keeps everyone on board.
- Fluent English: German or another European language is a strong plus, since you’ll review documents and customers from several markets.
🚀 The Grover Way - How We Drive Success:
- Own It: We take ownership seriously and define what success looks like. We drive shared ownership and don't wait - we drive. We keep one another accountable and take responsibility when issues arise.
- Challenge, Decide, and Commit: We engage in proactive support, active listening, and healthy conflict to reach the best outcomes. We value diverse perspectives and, once a decision is made, we commit to it fully.
- Empower and Grow: We enable, trust, and coach one another toward high performance, always thinking and acting like owners. We seek growth, apply feedback, and support the development of our peers.
- Respect, Transparency, and Clarity: We strive for clear, respectful, and open communication with no surprises. We simplify complex information so everyone knows the "what, why, and how".
