Our Workplace Adviser team plays an important part in that growth. We work with wealth advisers and corporate adviser firms to help them support employers with workplace pension selection, scheme governance, salary exchange, member engagement and long-term retirement outcomes.  Join us and you will be part of a collaborative, commercially focused team with the opportunity to help shape how Scottish Widows shows up in the adviser market, as a trusted workplace pension partner for the long term, that advisers can recommend with confidence.

About the role

In this desk-based role, you'll build and deepen relationships with adviser firms that operate in the workplace pensions market, helping them understand and position the strength of the Scottish Widows workplace pension proposition with their employer clients. You'll support advisers across areas such as scheme review, new business opportunities, salary exchange, implementation planning, member engagement and ongoing service.  You will develop and manage a panel of adviser relationships, work closely with the Business Development Managers, identify commercial opportunities and work with colleagues across Proposition, Operations, Implementation and Marketing to deliver a strong adviser and employer experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with real momentum in workplace pensions, where you can make a meaningful contribution to adviser engagement, employer confidence and member outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen relationships with corporate and wealth advisers operating in the workplace pensions market, including advisers who have not worked with us before.
  • Identify, develop and convert new workplace pension opportunities across your adviser panel, supporting both new schemes and growth within existing relationships.
  • Position Scottish Widows as a trusted workplace pension partner for advisers, helping them evidence value to employer clients beyond price alone.
  • Support adviser conversations on scheme review, scheme design, salary exchange, implementation planning, member engagement and retirement outcomes.
  • Use data, market insight and consultative skills to identify adviser opportunities, understand client needs and support commercially focused recommendations.
  • Represent Scottish Widows in adviser meetings, seminars, conferences and industry events.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Proposition, Operations, Implementation, Marketing and Service to improve adviser experience and deliver good customer outcomes.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of workplace pension market developments, competitor propositions, adviser business models and regulatory expectations.
  • Share insight from adviser and employer conversations to help shape proposition development, service improvements and future market positioning.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture by sharing best practice, supporting colleagues and actively looking for better ways of working.
  • Continue to develop technical knowledge across workplace pensions, investments, salary exchange, governance and the wider adviser market.

Why join us?

About you

We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Confidence working with adviser firms and senior internal customers with the ability to build trust, influence effectively and support long-term commercial relationships.
  • Good technical knowledge of workplace pension propositions, including auto-enrolment, default investment, salary exchange, transfers, implementation and ongoing scheme servicing.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to use insight, data and market knowledge to find opportunities and support better adviser and employer outcomes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and tailor messages for adviser and employer audiences.
  • High levels of motivation, resilience, curiosity and ownership, with a proactive approach to solving problems and improving ways of working.
  • The ability to work independently across a regional panel while contributing positively to a wider national team.
  • A commitment to professional development. Relevant pension qualifications would be desirable but are not essential for application.
