Business Strategy and Planning, AVP
AI in this role
Lead data enrichment and economic analysis using statistical methods and AI techniques to support global inflation and FX analytics platforms.
Who We Are Looking For
State Street PriceStats—the global leader in daily inflation analytics, drawing on millions of online prices and trusted by investors, economists, and central banks—is seeking a Poland-based AVP, Senior Data Enrichment and Economic Analyst. This senior role brings together economic analysis, web-sourced data enrichment, quality oversight for inflation and FX data, product development, and team leadership. The successful candidate will manage work across the data lifecycle, translate complex datasets into market insights at the intersection of inflation and FX, and partner with global Macro Research, Economics, Product, and Technology teams to deliver scalable solutions. The role requires strong analytical judgment, technical capability, attention to detail, and initiative.
Why This Role Is Important to Us
The Poland-based Data Enrichment and Analytics team is part of State Street Data Intelligence (SSDI), which turns differentiated data into actionable investment insights. SSDI offerings include the State Street PriceStats Indices, used by institutional investors and central banks, and the State Street Private Capital Indices, which support private equity and private credit portfolio construction and benchmarking. This role connects the team with Boston-based Economics, Product, and Technology partners, bringing together data enrichment, quantitative analysis, operational controls, and product development as SSDI expands its coverage and capabilities.
Join us if you are passionate about using data, economic insight, and technology to shape the future of investment intelligence.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Lead the enrichment and classification of economics-focused datasets using statistical methods, business rules, and AI techniques, including evaluating websites across global markets as potential data sources.
- Own local oversight of daily index monitoring, data-quality controls, exception management, and publication readiness for inflation and FX datasets. Address issues and anomalies affecting economic or market interpretation.
- Analyze inflation and FX trends across countries and sectors to identify data requirements, market implications, and product opportunities.
- Drive the development of purchasing power parity (PPP) products with the Boston-based Economics team, drawing on item-level pricing data and a strong understanding of FX and inflation dynamics.
- Lead opportunities to automate manual processes, strengthen controls, and improve end-to-end workflow efficiency, transparency, and resilience.
- Communicate complex technical and macro concepts clearly to internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, clients.
- Oversee and support junior team members by allocating work, setting priorities, reviewing output, providing coaching and feedback, and promoting consistent quality standards.
- Manage multiple workstreams and stakeholder relationships, ensuring risks, dependencies, and timelines are understood and addressed.
What We Value
- Strong knowledge of economic and statistical concepts is essential, with particular expertise at the intersection of inflation and FX—including exchange-rate movements, relative price levels, pass-through to consumer prices, and purchasing power parity—and the ability to translate these relationships into practical market and product insights.
- Experience with structured, unstructured, and web-scraped data, including classification, enrichment, validation, and quality assessment for inflation and FX datasets.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and a willingness to take ownership of assignments from problem definition through delivery.
- Clear and precise communication, including the ability to tailor technical content for different audiences.
- Ability to guide, coach, and support junior team members while fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines.
Education and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science, or a related quantitative field;
- Relevant experience curating and enriching data for inflation and FX analytics, including monitoring price-data quality across multiple country sources and managing exceptions.
- Experience evaluating web-based and other external data sources for relevance, coverage, accessibility, reliability, and continuity.
- Experience training and supporting others on inflation and FX data processes, methodologies, and quality standards is preferred.
- Exposure to data pipelines, automated quality controls, classification models, or AI and machine learning techniques is beneficial.
- Experience with Python, SQL, STATA, MATLAB, or similar analytical tools is helpful.
- Good communication and English language skills (both written and verbal)
