Role highlights:

  • Location: Espoo, Finland

  • Department: Global Manufacturing Organisation (GMO) - Supply Chain, Mechanical Systems and AIT Enablement

  • Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

  • Employment type: Permanent

  • Workplace model: Hybrid (max 2 days/week WFH)

  • Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)

Why this role matters:

This role secures the mechanical hardware our satellites are built from and the parts and materials our assembly, integration and test (AIT) teams rely on every day: built-to-print mechanical parts, mechanical assemblies, mechanisms, off-the-shelf (COTS) components, and consumables. Without them, satellites cannot be built, tested, and launched on schedule. Working closely with suppliers, engineering, and production, you’ll translate drawings and technical needs into reliable supply, manage risk, and support the scaling of satellite production.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue RFQs and RFIs for built-to-print mechanical parts, mechanical assemblies, mechanisms, COTS parts, and AIT consumables, and consolidate supplier responses for evaluation

  • Place and manage purchase orders, tracking status from order confirmation through to delivery

  • Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery dates, and shipment status, escalating delays as needed

  • Maintain and organize procurement documentation, contracts, and supplier records for audit and compliance readiness

  • Handle day-to-day administrative supply chain tasks, including data entry, PO amendments, and invoice reconciliation in ERP/MRP systems

  • Support senior supply chain specialists and category owners with sourcing activities and supplier communications

  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, production, and finance to resolve drawing and specification queries with suppliers and align on delivery schedules and documentation needs

  • Track and update procurement records and status reports for category and management reviews

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

  • 2+ years of procurement or buying experience sourcing mechanical or technical hardware, ideally within aerospace, precision manufacturing, or hardware production

  • Experience preparing RFQs/RFIs and managing purchase orders end-to-end

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple orders and suppliers in parallel

  • Strong cross-functional communication and execution with engineering and production teams

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven hardware production environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • Comfortable working within an international supplier ecosystem

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing processes (such as machining, sheet metal, and surface treatments) and the supplier base behind them

  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances, materials, and finish requirements

  • Experience buying COTS components and consumables through distributors, including replenishment planning

  • Exposure to scaling production in a fast-growing, technology-driven company

Application Process

  • Application review

  • Initial interview with Talent Acquisition (30 minutes)

  • Hiring manager video interview

  • Task assignment relevant to the role

  • Final onsite team/department interview (2 hours)
