AI in this role
🎬 The Role
On behalf of our client—a leading global business services and Employer of Record (EOR) provider—we are seeking a strategic, hands-on, and highly adaptable technology leader to join their executive team in Dubai as Chief Technology Officer (or Executive Director leading into the CTO role).
In this position, you will drive a comprehensive, company-wide technology transformation—reimagining how the organization operates by embedding modern AI, automation, and software engineering across every department. Rather than acting purely as a high-level administrator, you will evaluate the entire business through a technical and operational lens, owning the full technology spectrum: software, data, and AI engineering, as well as business applications, IT support, and cybersecurity. Your core mission is to put the right tools, automations, and AI capabilities directly into the hands of functional teams (Sales, Marketing, HR, Operations, Legal) to dramatically scale productivity, lead conversion, and operational excellence.
👤 The Responsibilities
Drive Business-Wide AI & Automation: Conduct deep-dive analyses of functional business workflows across Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, and Legal to identify operational friction points and deploy custom AI agents, automated workflows, and productivity micro-tools.
Empower Internal Teams: Put the right AI tools, automation engines, and software directly into the hands of non-technical business units, training and enabling them to optimize day-to-day operations.
Lead End-to-End Engineering: Exercise unified ownership over Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and AI Engineering, guiding technical architecture, API frameworks, database structures, and cloud infrastructure.
Oversee Business Applications & IT Support: Manage the enterprise application ecosystem (CRM, internal portals, ERP/payroll engines, communication platforms) and ensure seamless IT and application support across global teams.
Maintain Cybersecurity & Compliance: Establish and enforce robust security protocols, data encryption standards, access controls, and strict compliance with global data protection regulations such as GDPR.
Hands-On Technical Execution: Act as a scrappy, curious, and fast-moving builder-architect who actively prototypes solutions, evaluates emerging tech and vendors, and validates concepts before scaling them across the business.
Strategic Executive Leadership: Partner directly with executive leadership to translate commercial targets into technology roadmaps, manage tech budgets, and optimize resource allocation.
🎓 The Skills & Competencies
AI & Automation Literacy: Practical experience building and deploying AI capabilities (LLM integration, automated workflows, predictive tools) and integrating them into business processes.
Multidisciplinary Technical Background: Demonstrated expertise across software engineering, data engineering, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern API architectures.
Business Analysis Capability: Exceptional ability to analyze complex operational workflows and translate business challenges into actionable, technology-enabled solutions.
Hands-On & Scrappy Mindset: Willingness to dive into code, test tools directly, and prototype solutions alongside engineering and functional teams.
Communication & Leadership: Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical strategy clearly to non-technical executive teams and guide employees through digital transformation.
⭐ The Differentiators
Prior experience within B2B SaaS, Professional Services, HRTech, Global Expansion, or Employer of Record (EOR) sectors.
Experience navigating international data privacy standards (GDPR, SOC 2) and cross-border payroll/HR regulatory frameworks.
Nontraditional, high-adaptability background with a proven track record of rapidly building scrappy, high-impact internal tools or scalable platforms.
⏳ The Benefits
Competitive executive compensation package and performance incentives.
High-visibility leadership role driving the digital and AI transformation of an established international company.
Based in Dubai, working alongside an executive leadership team in a dynamic environment.
✅ The Process
Application → HR CV Screening → HR Screening Interview → First Business Interview → Second Business Interview → Executive / Technical Deep-Dive → Offer

Skills and AI tools this role asks for
Questions you could be asked
- How have you integrated a large language model into a production application?
- How do you decide when an AI agent can act on its own versus asking for approval first?
- This role expects you to use AI tools as part of the job. Which ones have you used, and for what?
- Tell me about a time an AI tool got something wrong. How did you catch it?
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: LLM Integration and AI agents. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list. This role treats it as a required part of the job.
