Job Summary
Responsible for the testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover of Fire Fighting and Fire Protection Systems, ensuring installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, international standards, and UAE Civil Defence requirements. Coordinates with project teams, consultants, authorities, and subcontractors to deliver safe, reliable, and fully operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning, and handover activities for Fire Fighting and Fire Protection Systems.
Inspect installations to verify compliance with approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and relevant standards.
Test and commission:
Fire Fighting Pump Sets, including electric, diesel, and jockey pumps
Fire Water Tanks and Fire Hydrant Systems
Wet Riser, Dry Riser, and Standpipe Systems
Sprinkler Systems and Pre-Action Systems
Foam Fire Suppression Systems
Clean Agent and Gas Suppression Systems
Hose Reel and Fire Hose Systems
Fire Hydrants, Landing Valves, Breeching Inlets, and Fire Department Connections
Fire Extinguishers and associated fire protection equipment
Carry out hydrostatic pressure testing, flushing, flow testing, pump performance testing, alarm testing, and functional verification.
Verify pump flow, pressure, churn pressure, starting sequence, automatic operation, and integration with fire alarm and building management systems.
Review approved drawings, hydraulic calculations, equipment schedules, test certificates, and technical submittals.
Identify installation defects, non-conformities, and commissioning issues, and coordinate timely corrective actions.
Prepare inspection requests, method statements, commissioning procedures, test records, checklists, and completion certificates.
Coordinate inspections and testing with consultants, clients, Civil Defence authorities, main contractors, MEP teams, and specialist subcontractors.
Support authority inspections, witness testing, snagging, re-testing, and final approval processes.
Ensure all testing and commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with approved risk assessments, permit-to-work procedures, and health and safety requirements.
Provide technical guidance to site engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.
Maintain accurate commissioning records and provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager.
Support the preparation of operation and maintenance manuals, as-built documentation, training materials, and final handover dossiers.

Clean Agent, CO2, and Gas Suppression Systems
Fire Water Storage Tanks and Fire Department Connections
Fire Alarm interfaces, flow switches, pressure switches, tamper switches, and monitoring devices
Hydrostatic testing, flushing, flow testing, pressure testing, and system balancing
Hydraulic calculations, pump curves, test results, and commissioning documentation
NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 20, NFPA 22, NFPA 24, NFPA 25, NFPA 72, and other relevant standards
UAE Civil Defence regulations, local authority requirements, and applicable international codes
AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, commissioning software, and technical reporting tools
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
3–7 years of commissioning experience in Fire Fighting, Fire Protection, or MEP systems.
Practical experience commissioning fire pumps, sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, wet and dry risers, and associated fire protection equipment.
UAE or GCC experience preferred, with knowledge of Civil Defence inspection and approval procedures.
Ability to interpret approved shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, specifications, equipment data sheets, and testing requirements.
Knowledge of NFPA standards, project specifications, authority requirements, and health and safety procedures.
Experience preparing inspection requests, test reports, commissioning records, snag lists, and handover documentation.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
Ability to manage multiple commissioning activities and meet project deadlines.
Relevant fire protection, commissioning, or health and safety certifications will be an advantage.
