JOB PURPOSE

  • Day-to-day management of AESG Cost Management project delivery, resource management, and proposals.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE

  • BSc or MSc in a Quantity Surveying or Contracts related field.

  • Minimum 5+ years of working experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office and expert Excel skills.

  • Measurement and CostX superuser.

  • Strong understanding of Construction costs in both UAE and KSA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to our clients.

  • Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments.

  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects, liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control.

  • Undertaking cost management services with limited supervision.

  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in the cost management of projects.

  • Ensure effective interaction between the cost management team and the operational teams.

  • Carry out cost management including forecasting.

  • Prepare cost estimates of project design stages.

  • Monitor the contract's final cost estimates.

  • Review, negotiate, and prepare claim settlements.

  • Prepare the Final Account with all supporting documentation.

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.

DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE BASE AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLSET

  • Time Management / Planning

Monitor progress and time taken to complete tasks to ensure tasks completion stays on track. Balance the time spent on activities, understanding and prioritising the urgency of tasks. Forecasts issues that will hinder the accomplishment of tasks. Effectively handling multiple tasks without compromising quality.

  • Industry Experience / Thought Leadership

Demonstrated industry experience on a wide range of related project types, proven ability to efficiently manage project deadlines. Begin to establish the credibility as emerging thought leaders.

  • Project Management / Operational Delivery

Ability to independently manage the delivery of smaller projects ($50k) in a Client facing role. Strong knowledge of technical discipline with experience in executing previous projects to a high level of independence.

  • Leadership / Team Management Experience

Commence taking on elements of team management in sub projects. Demonstratable experience in managing small team of 2 or more, on live projects, or mentoring junior team members / graduates. Uphold AESG Core Values.

  • Commercial Acumen / Business Development

Manage commercials on project delivery with support from more senior team members. Assist in creation and delivery of proposals.

  • Problem Solving / Decision Making

May take on roles that involve coordinating tasks and solving specific problems within their areas of responsibility. Developing more advanced problem-solving skills, such as root cause analysis, and become proficient at making decisions that impact their immediate teams.

  • Employee Focus / Process Compliance

Specialising in roles related to employee-centric practices. Actively coordinate efforts to enhance employee experience, such as planning & executing recognition programs, conducting surveys, and organising employee well-being initiatives. Identifies external regulations that can impact the organization.
